Welcome to Librarium Online!
Am I the only one who is not a huge fan of the out-of-the-box, plain-Jane Monolith? I mean, I look at the thing and all I see is a giant fishing-line sinker with a ring pop on the top and some guns glued on the sides.
Have any of you ever seen a monolith conversion that looked substantially different than the normal model? If anyone has pictures of a conversion and would like to include them in this thread I would be ecstatic!
Does anyone have any good ideas for converting a monolith? I would love to do this myself but I am having a hard time relating any ideas for a conversion to the Necron lore so that it is believable. I like the idea of a giant mechanical walker/spiderish thing but I don't know how the portal would fit into this idea.
Thanks in advance for the comments!
I've thought about a giant tomb-spyder creation that could count as a monlith perhaps... Big obelisk on the back and a portal in it's belly. Pic.
Not really sure what else you could do either, perhaps just different building formations of plasticard? The GW site has (or had) some of the concept art for crons, you could always look there, some of it is REALLY sweet. One was this sort of skull faced hovering train vehicle.
What about buying a monolith kit and a lizarmen stegadon and like a mumaki using the stegadon instead of an olephont and the sides of the monolith as the crows nest where the archers sit. I think this would be very hard to do and £25 more expensive thsn a normal monolith but imagine a line of these squiggoth like things rampaging towards the enemy with warriors advancing underfoot.Cinamatically, quite cool im sure youll agree. If you have some skill at painting and modelling(Unlike me) this could be a way to go.
