Another question for you experienced Waaghs. How do you make a decent Deffrolla?
"We are Retribution Personified!"
I made mine with a small piece of 3/4" PVC pipe, available at every hardware store. I had Imperial Guard Leman Russ tank hubs (the circular wheel-like bits that go between the sides of the tank) to cap it off on both ends, and then I used AoBR Deffkopta blades to connect it to the front of my battlewagon, and glued spare bits to the front for crushin' skulls.
But I'm beginning to question the effectiveness of the deffrolla, because it doesn't ignore armour saves. But it's still awesome for ramming a vehicle.
I couldn't think of anything funny, smart, or witty to say, so I said this.
I've yet to convert mine, but I have some spare 2" PVC pipe I was thinking of using... So what if the rolla is so big the driver can't see over it
Though keeping em for the purpose of ramming vehciles is always fun
Considering.. you can Tank Shock multiple units.. using two or more in unison can really put the squeeze on an enemy. Regardless of armor saves, d6 / 2d6 S10 hits is insane, and can potentially force TWO morale checks instead of one. Forcing half of your opponents army to flee on the same turn that you've just assaulted is VERY nice!
Ramming.. is controversial. I, and many other intelligent people, still say that Ramming = Tank Shock, but other weedy rules-lawyers insist that it is not.
To them, I suggest taking elementary geometry. All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. Regardless, there's enough of them weedy gitz to make a loud enough fuss that certain events/groups allow it, others don't. I suggest clarifying with your opponent before hand.

Hahaha! That was good :p
I don't know what you're talking about... I clearly typed "All squares are rectangles" .. "but not all rectangles are squares"..
All rectangles ARE squares.... if said rectanlge is a square.
