I was just wondering for the WYSIWYG rule (per tourney rules) what exactly comprises a KFF? Is it just the Big mek model with a KFF in the Codex or can I take another Big Mek model and just give him one? Because I was looking around and it seems that the only KFF is the one that comes with that Big mek blister and one little bit doesn't seem like its worth the 20 bucks.
Any tips or clarifications for meh? Thanks!
I'm sure you would be fine with a Kustomized KFF for your Mek. As long as you let people know what it is beforehand and make something that looks distiguishable, you should be fine.
The best thing about Orks is that a lot of their stuff is kustom made by them and so it can be any sorta junk thrown together, as long it remotely resembles what you're going for.
As a matter of fact, I bought someone's ork Collection a few months ago, and I got his version of a Mek with a KFF. I'll post the pic here so you can get some ideas.

Thanks a lot for that! I was toying with the idea of mixing something up to represent a KFF and thats a really original idea there. Maybe I'll just make an umbrella of saran wrap that covers 6" out from his base so I wont ever have to measure what units benefit from it !
You can pretty easily throw one together on a Nob or an extra Warboss with some interesting bits. I used guitar string and Defiler bitz on a metal Choppa Warboss to make mine, and he looks great.
I can post up some pics if you want me to.
I definitely would appreciate it, I mean, who doesn't like to check out some sweet conversions!?! Thanks!
this is a pretty important bit of gear... at least for tournies you need to get some kind of wonky/mechanical/teslacoil-ish thing to justify your model. Its not like a marine w/a boltpistol "oh yah its mounted under the backpack...", this one needs representation. But it dosnt need to be hard to model, heck, I'd call it WYSIWYG if it was an orky box with a metal rod poking up. It would look stoooooopid, but at least it would work.
Armies thus far....
