    Do you deepstrike monoliths?

Something that i've often wondered, do most of you deepstrike monoliths or advance them with your army?

On one hand, deepstriking will get your monolith in the middle of an enemy's army, where it can let rip with the flux arc, and you can use the portal to bring your warriors forward, reducing the time spent slogging up the board. On the other, you'll miss out on your monolith for a couple of turns, it might turn up too late, and dreadnought or similar in your opponent's army would spoil a deepstriker's day really quickly.

    So, do you?

Well it sort of depends for me.If im facing an army that I think will kill it 1st or 2nd turn I deepstrike. If not, footslog. However, there are several exceptoins. If im playing my fast army(2vod,resorb lords)
I deepstrike it just to have the ability to completly change the location of my army in 1 turn. Also,if Im playing another deepstrike army (deamons spring to mind) I sometimes deep strike if just to insure it survives to shoot at them

With 5th edition denying the Gauss arc on deep strike. You end up choosing particle whip or forcefully having to portal troops in if you left them in reserve. 4th Edition deepstriking was a blast because you could Flux arc then portal. Now I slog them because they are weak if they can't survive one turn (they'll usually draw alot of fire being that close).

'liths are now stronger against shooting, and weaker at melee than ever before. Further, the portal ability is now weaker than ever before. And, as already mentioned, the Flux shot is removed by DSing it. As such, it's rare that I DS the thing.

    On a side note:

You can only take one Veil of Darkness per army?

I like deepstriking it against heavily mechanized enemies.
Nothing like dropping it right ontop of a group of ordinance barrage guns, causing them to move out of cover.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
