Went to visit the Grand Tournament final yesterday here in the UK and about half of the players were using Orks but the most common setup amongst them included 4 battlewagons, big Mek, Ghrazskull and mega armoured Nobs. Everywhere I looked I saw this setup it was just like the GT before the current chaos codex when Iron Warrior armies were everywhere with 9 obliterators, 3 defilers and 2 deamon princes.
So is this setup really that powerful?
Hmm, I guess that's a tough army to beat, but how many points is it? And how many BW's/MegaNob squads? Sounds expensive but I guess it could be really tough to beat. Not sure because I've never really used Megnobz before.
wait a battle wagon is a heavy support choice and your only allowed to have 3 heavy support options....how is he fielding 4....?
Battlewagons can also be transports for Nobs and Meganobs.
It's a solid list, I run something similar (only 3 BW though, with Trukks and other armor as backup). Multiple AV14 vehicles covered by the KFF are a pain to get rid off, and with Trukks/Buggies to block the vulnerable sides you can get some good protection.
Add in Deff Rollas and all the normal benefits of a mechanized army, plus Ghazgkhull and Nobs' awesomeness and you've got a contendah.

sorry that doesnt make sense
Trukks are not part of force organization chart as they are a transport only. Battlwagons have their own section. Heck it even says that the trukk is a dedicated transport but the battlewagon is specified on the organization chart as a heavy support with no dedicated transport....with that same logic then couldnt you stack up on looted wagons.....
Read your codex again. Battle Wagons are dedicated transports for Nobz and Meganobz.
You can field 8 Battle Wagons: 3 Elite Transports (Nobz), 2 Troop Transports (Warboss + Troop Nobz), and 3 Heavy Support (Heavy Support)
I've recently become a fan of this thing called Dubstep. And you should too.

I'm sure we'll see a lot of these, just like I'm starting to see more multiple land raider armies and I'm sure we'll see leman russ spam as well.
Basically, armor 14 is a super pain. The fact that land raiders and battlewagons give assault capabilities (open topped or assault vehicle) makes them even better. Couple that 14 with a fairly obscene amount of guns, and it makes it hard to kill them. Good luck with getting rid of all those weapons and immobilizing it, let alone flat out destroying it. Plus, both land raiders and battlewagons have options for when they can't shoot (PotMS and Deffrollas).
The battlewagon/land raider is a durable jack of all trades, similar to the Eldar Falcon of 4th ed. They carry troops, can lay down a hell of a hurtin' and are hard to kill. GW has replaced one unit that people complained about with another. However, given the fact that orks and marines are reaping the benefits (soon Guard will as well, to some degree), we're unlikely to see a nerf, especially with the new edition just arrived as well as the relative newness of marine and ork dexes.
Solution: Take melta, lots of melta, and pray to whoever you pray to (the emperor, the chaos gods, gork and mork) for good rolls.
I'm trying to catalog every song with a reference to yetis or Sasquatch. Please help.
Meh, battlewagons really aren't that great. They are durable as hell, but they do not pose that much of a threat. The deff-rolla and killkannon are alright, but not so good considering the price tag. The ability to transport orks is good, but the battlewagons are pretty fragile against CC attacks and fast enemies that can hit the av12 or even av10. I feel like the best way to use battlewagons is with support from faster units like trukks, buggies and bikers that can protect it's weakspots.
