A broadside team would be a good idea because:
1. The Hammerhead could use ordnance while your broadsides take care of any visible armored targets.
2. Broadsides could use SMS on targets behind cover.
3. Broadsides have twinlinked railguns, meaning you will rarely ever miss on your to hit rolls. With hammerheads its a one shot deal.
For if one gave, he dared assert
He knew that man was repentant
For many a man is so hard of heart
He cannot weep even though he suffers sorely
While both are great heavy support choices id go with another hammerhead, its more manueverable, fast, and with a multitracker can fire at 12 inches. Plus, it looks awesome. In most games the hammerhead is the better choice, the exception being games were the enemy is forced to come to you, then the broadsides can sit and unload.

Maneuverability doesn't come into play too much when your weapon reaches 72". I would go with the broadsides. They are twin linked, have a good save and three of them are cheaper than one hammerhead tank.
Besides, one broadside with a 2+/4+ save and a twin linked rail gun costs less than half as many points as the cheapest version of the hammerhead.
if you fight another army with heavy guns go with broadsides because the hammerhead can get owned first turn by lascannons.

glad to see strYker is back on the boards,
yes i would agree with strYker. Hammer Heads (HH) are vehicles and can't hide behind infantry or get a save in cover just hull down (which won't be in the next edition). And if your opponent loves heavy AT weapons like lascannons or krak missles then the HH is going down first turn.
If you charge a bunker and die, its called being reckless, but if you charge the bunker and win, it's heroic!
In my opinion I would rather have a squad of 3 Broadsides instead of a HH.

2 Hammerheads and a fully-knitted out Broadside Team to kill ANY armor your opponent throws at you.

I personally field 2 hammerheads and a full broadside team all sporting shield generators. The broadsides are usually the last pieces standing on the table if the tide turns, thats how survivable they are. Since you already own the hammerhead, get a broadside, it will give you an edge the hammerhead doesnt have. That said, run them together, each can fulfill roles the other can't. Your hammerhead can take out swarms easier, move from point to point very fast supplying support fire (don't forget that with an MT you can move 12 inches and fire all your weapons, I prefer two burst cannons), and its harder for people to assault. That said, if you are on the first turn, and you are not hiding behind a building, which you should hope to be able to, your hammerhead runs a very good chance of dying, while the broadside will likely survive, and the broadside can superbly fulfill the role of tank hunter, especially when aided by a markerlight.
Wow two Hammerheads is a waste of points though i beleive 1 gives excellent support fire u will usally want Broadsides for their ability to be sheilded by infantry and their twin-linked railguns and also u can customize them more than a Hammerhead giving them a 4+ inv save which can help when taking on guard or any heavy weapons race with better range.
