Welcome to Librarium Online!
ok this post has nothing to do with eating....
but it is todo with how do you equip your vipers? i have 3 sat on my side had for years but dont know best to equip them was thinking if bright lances but that seems expensive is it worth it, ir should the EML and s cannnon work better but there again enough EML in ym army, then i think scatter lasers y walkers do that! so in short what do you equip you vipers with or what weapon do u know to work?
You already have EML's in your army? Your post is pretty unclear. It depends on what you have in the rest of your army really. Take the weapons on your Vipers that you lack with the rest of your army.
I may as well add that up until recently I've eaten vipers with a decent helping of Plasma Gun.
Yes my post was a lot of going off on a rant about nothing but to sum up:
Post is for people to post how they use and equip there vipers
Bright lances are a waste on vypers for 3 reasons.
1. Poor ballistic skill. Multi-shot weapons are the best thing on vypers. Yes, that means EMLs too.
2. Speed vs. Lance. Vypers are fast, and they excel at getting around to flanks and into prime position. Bright Lances don't need to get around to the sides, as they pierce through tough front armor just as easilty as side armor. You are paying extra points for two abilities (the speed and the lance) and if you are using one the other is going to waste.
3. Price. Vypers are best at being cheap, expendable support fire. Putting a bright lance on them makes them expensive, which isn't something you want with their low armor and ability to be fielded in units.
I have found that Vypers are best when used as an anti-infantry cleanup squad. Equip them with Scatter Lasers or Starcannons for 36" range weaponry, and they can support any unit on the board with an effective range of 48" with their move. Shuriken cannons can work as well, but are not as effective. Vypers can be sitting off in one place seemingly alone and not supporting any unit, tricking your opponent into thinking your army is spread out and will not have a combined attack.
(marines and stuff like that)starcanon or scatter(horde armies), spiritstone and holo field. Split them up to groups of one max 2 if my force org chart allowes. The rest maxes out their staying power (i had 2 of these go seperately and for 2-3 turns all shots hit them (marines) and they survived although the weapon was knocked down but you get the idea... around 1500 points)
when i use mine i put a missile launcher on it. pegging away with plasma missiles is nothing to sneer at, especially against guard and tau. and who knows, that krak missile might just account for a tank someday.
Star Cannons are tempting... especially since i fight alot of marines (though, who doesn't?). But with the new cover rules it can be tough to get a straight shot at them, plus like others said... their BS isn't great. So I am a big fan of Scatter Lasers... they are cheap, you get alot of shots at a decent range, and have a good strength. EML sounds like a good option as well. Though I haven't tried it.
I typically run them with a bike squad for added fire support.

At the start of 5th I thought EMLs where going to be the choice for me. I quickly found, however, that they were seriously lacking. I have switched to starcannons, and haven't looked back since. With good playing the cover save isn't an issue. Place objectives out in the open, create opportunities so the marine players have to run out of cover. Best of all the Vypers are fast, and cover is directional in 5th. Just hop around pieces of terrain and hit the from the side or behind. As an added bonus the starcannons will be feared after a round or two and you can dictate your enemy's movement.
another thing to consider with cover is: marines get a 3+ save, and their cover is 4+ mostly. which would you rather they have to roll?
