Welcome to Librarium Online!
just lookin for some other ideas besides the ones in the codex
The "ceramic" scheme? Or what about a grey/blue-ish and green scheme...
well since i just started i wanted a cool city fight scheme so i did an under coat of black, then midnight blue and a drybrush/highlight of ice blue. its pretty bitching. along with metal on all the joints and hands etc..

its hard to pick, the ceramics do look pretty cool but so do mostly all of the other color schemes haha
Well i'm probably the laziest necron player here. I base them with chaos black spray and then drybrush them mythril silver. I will paint the small tube coming out of the side of the gun (called a tubricole by me) and then insert the "tubual" (standard transparent green rod)
i plan to paint the small chest medallion things blue when i get some free time... when i am in the mood for painting.
Necron will stand for eternity.Their race has survived aeons by trading their very souls for metal bodies. Now, they will live on through eternity and will vanquish all life from our universe. For they are Necron. Flesh is weak. The machine will rise!
do them mainly silver then do the heads white and the shoulder pads red it looks very impressive with a bit of highlighting.
i have worked my self up to a state of extreame poverty!!!!!

Insomniac, great minds think alike, no? because i have that same color scheme. Except on my destroyers and H. Destroyers.do them mainly silver then do the heads white and the shoulder pads red it looks very impressive with a bit of highlighting. biggrin.gif
for them i am thinking about painting the shoulders gold or something suitably ornate since they were supposed to be the first to accept the c'tans deal.

well i think ive decided. a ceramic color scheme with a black basecoat and then the "armored parts" if u will, space wolves grey
there are way to many shiny boring necrons, but im too lazy to really paint mine up nicely. there need to be far more rusty necrons.
black primer as a base coat, followed by a dry brush of boltgun metal. this is followed by a heavy dry brush of tin bitz. green for the tubes, eyes, and chest thingy, metal for the vents on the gun, and the axe on the end. im just trying to work out the best way to highlight the things (which i dont really care about mind you).
I was going to paint my necrons to look all old and rusty, but then i thought, "would living metal really rust????" the answer seemed simple to me (heck no). so that is my reason for making "shiny Necrons"there are way to many shiny boring necrons, but im too lazy to really paint mine up nicely. there need to be far more rusty necrons.
