Hell dear Tau players. I´m thinking about starting a tau army (have a space marine army and a demon army) as I want something new and diffrent. But I got some questions that I really don´t know when it comes to Tau.
1. Can a crisis suit have more then three support system. Because I want to make a HQ with fusion blaster, Airbursting fragmentation projector, multi-tracker, Target lock, Targetting array, shield generator and stimulant injector. I know perhaps the best option but it would be ahard HQ to take them and at the same time he can move up and doa lot of damage. but is it possibly, because what I understand the supportsystem only (with target lock, shield generator, multi-tracker and targeting array) should eat up more then 3 systems points.
2. How does it comes that the crisis suits can move 6, shoot and then move 6 more? What am I missing?
3. How does drones work when they are with a crisis suit or a veichle?
Propably I will come back with more questions. Wants to thank in advance for the help. Some questions are very simple I guess for some of you
The Drones must stay in coherence with the model controlling them if it is a lone model or within coherence (2") of any model in the unit the controlling model is in.
If the controlling model is killed any of its Drones remaining are removed at the end of the phase the controller was killed in.
The Drones must fire at the same target the controller fires at unless the controller has a target lock. Drones are treated as individual models in close combat.
Shas'O/Els and Drones form a unit but they can join other units.
You cannot give an XV8 wound to a Drone, if an XV8 rolls a save and fails it the XV8 takes the wound, this applies to Shield Drones as well.
Controlled Drones become the same unit type as their controller and have the same movement rates.
The rules for vehicle mounted Drones are covered here >>http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...les-guide.html
Hope that helps clarify. If you do not have the codex buy or lend one and read it thoroughly before you buy any models.
Riki has hit this square on the head, as always, though I'd thought I'll add my 2 cents.
If you look in the codex, in the Crisis Battlesuit systems list, some have the word Hardwired before the item. this means that some battlesuits can take these additonal items.
NOTE: Taking Hardwired/special systems are only availiable to certain XV8's (such as XV8 Team Leaders, Bodyguard Shas'vre and Commanders) and you must read in their squad entry about what additional systems/wargear that that particular model has access to.
If you haven't already, I'd get the Rulebook and get the Tau Empire Codex to get a better feel of the rules for fielding Tau, you'll find that most of your questions can be found simply by searching in the right places within these books.
If you're just browsing for an army, looking for a change from what you've been playing lately, I'd recommend flicking through a Tau Codex in-store or borrowing it from a friend, and getting a good feel of the rules before making the decision, whether the 'new feel' that your looking for is the right one or not is based on your tastes and your expected playing-style that you might use for this army.
Good luck on finding your new army!

Thanks for the help. This was just the answer I was looking for. Also thanks for the links. so far i allready got rulebook and codex but specially the codex is a little bit hard to read I think (english is not my first language)
If you can't find your answer through that, post a thread, I'm sure someone would help you.
