Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was scouring through the GW website when i came across the article called 'Applying Tau Transfers'. That XV8's paint job looks amazing! I really want to paint a battlesuit up like that but was wondering what paints people thought were used.
That's the link above. It looks to me like Dark Angles Green as a basecoat over Chaos Black. Then it looks like 1 highlight of either Snot Green, Gobling Green or Scorpion Green. Anyone know?
I don't *know*, but it certainly does look like DA Green with Snot Green highlighting. Why don't you try those colours out on a spare piece of sprue or unwanted piece of a model and see how it turns out? Maybe there could be a bit of Goblin Green in the final highlight mix too...
At least if you try it for yourself you'll have the actual result sitting in front of you and you could then decide whether they work for you or not.
"Tau Commandment #226: Participants who use Velocity Trackers in the Tau Clay Pigeon Tournament will be disqualified"
Have tried it quickly, seemed to look like DA green with a snot green highlight. Might do goblin green as an extreme highlight. Rep for the idea and help though. =]
I hate painting, so Just gave my Tau jungle camoflage!!! Easist scheme to do!
It took me about a year before I actually started to enjoy the painting and modeling, before this took on all aspects of a "hobby" for me.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
