Welcome to Librarium Online!
ok im off to my local hobby shop in a short while to start collectinc a necron army. i was just looking at the battleforce and i think i mite start with that. it comes with 20 warriors 5 scarab swarms and 3 destroyers, then ill prolly buy a necron lord. this sound like a good plan?
ya but hav u got the codex or have u made an army list yet.
because if u havnt then get the codex first and read it so u know the rules for necrons then make an army list so u know what ur doing and dont just buy a load of crap that u dont know awt about.
i have worked my self up to a state of extreame poverty!!!!!

I adopted a cute lil' Scotty fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus! </a>
Necron Lord (destroyer body, res orb, phylactery)
48 Necron warriors
2 tomb spyders
3 heavy destroyers
and yes i have the codex
I would take out AT LEAST one heavy. WHA no monolith!?
lose the pariahs, 4 wont do anything and honestly they suck real bad.definitly take out a heavy and get some more destroyers
my personal opinion is that you only need 36 warriors right now but thats just personal preference, you could use the saved points to go towards a 'lith or something
dont forget about the scarabs, they are useful little buggers
"I am the architect of fate!"
alrite thanx for the suggestions ill edit it in a little, and ya i think i am gonna get a monolith cause they seem very usefull
the monolith is probably the most powerful tank vailable to 40K
great survivability and good firepower for a nifty price
TheBigJake, is right, lose the pariahs and stick to warriors, immortals and destroyers, those are the best units you can have
'liths are powerful but not very useful. you're sucking up alot of points to set down a single bullet magnet. every broadside suit/lascannon/anything else is going to be aiming for the thing. it really doesnt have enough benefits to get it, considering its going to be shot up so badly.
heavy support is something necrons really dont need. every necron on the table has the chance to blow up a tank. if you have 36 warriors on the table (which really isnt a huge number) and you shoot at a tank, a good 6 of those just inflicted a glancing hit. of the other 18 you get to roll you will probably score another 3 glancing hits. thats with a mere 36 warriors. if you have 3 heavy destroyers 2 will hit, and then armor penetration and the result are a toss up from there. with 9 glancing hits you can bet on doing some serious damage to whatever you may be shooting.
36 warriors shooting a single shot on terminators will result in 2 or 3 kills. you're going to have those warriors around anyway. heavy destroyers (which suck up points) are going to kill about 2 a turn. do you see where im going with this?
heavy support is around for 2 reasons: 1) blowing up tanks. 2) taking out super heavy troops. if you can do them both with a group of stock troops (who you need to avoid phase out), really, why would you bother grabbing a monolith or heavy destroyers?
dont concern yourself with heavy support, and as its already been said, dont bother with pariahs (they cost too much, and dont count towards stopping phase out).
@sendmoreparamedics: Why would you waste 36 perfectly fine troop shots on one target or 5 man sqaud. They are the majority of your shots used against something you have only a small chance to harm. so you've wasted 75% of your shots on terminators while your enemy still has 5 squads of marines and 2 tanks left...
Necron will stand for eternity.Their race has survived aeons by trading their very souls for metal bodies. Now, they will live on through eternity and will vanquish all life from our universe. For they are Necron. Flesh is weak. The machine will rise!
