hey thinking of starting a necron army and i had back round idea im not sure how the command works but was gonna go for a vampire like theme
I'm not sure what you're talking about, but do you mean converting a Necron army to make it look like vampires? That could be cool, with flayed ones being more feral, and Lords being, well, lords.
no i mean haveing my lord like a vampire but instead like injecting people with a virus or maybe nanobytes so they slowly turn into necrons
So... if I gave some daemons a matte paint-job, would they be "Matte Daemons?"

for friendly games, you can have pretty much anything "count as" necrons.
If you're talking of using a bunch of conversions counting as necrons, of course.
I saw on ebay a while back, someone converted a tomb lords fantasy army into a necron army (not THAT creative), but it was cool to see normal skeletons with gauss blasters, and destroyers were represented by chariots and whatnot.
The only thing I would say you would have to do is be consistant, one of the points of the necrons is the endless legion of machine stamped warriors.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
