Ok, anyone have good tips for assembling the Big Mek with SAG model? Skipped right over regular super glue as I know it doesn't stand a chance. I used a gel based super glue on my Killer Kan last night that worked great, but not sure how well it will work on the SAG model. I was hoping to avoid pinning as I hate drilling pewter models so may give the gel glue a go before resorting to that. But before going any further I figured I'd see what others have done.
i used normal superglue with an accelerant makes the superglue dry almost instantly took me about 10 minutes to put him together after my buddy handed me that stuff not to sure where to get it though probably any hobby shop.
I used the gel based glue, which seems to be holding nicely. As an added measure I brushed some PVA glue into the cracks after the super glue dried. So far so good. Thanks for the accelerant tip though, may look into that for future projects!
I used a combination of greenstuff and superglue. The lighter/smaller parts were simply glued on, while the heavier or more oddly shaped ones (like the gun itself or the tube on the back) got a small pea of GS which was then glued after it had set for a while.
