i like normal hqs better
what do you think:
death to the false emperor!!!
call the waggh, i dare you...
agreed Puretides aspects of battle are great
Maybe next book they can put all of his in the next book
This one's Forge World/Imperial Armour character, but R'myr would be my pick
O'Shovah takes a close second
Puretide. After all, he taught both Farsight and Shadowsun.
"Tau Commandment #226: Participants who use Velocity Trackers in the Tau Clay Pigeon Tournament will be disqualified"
Farsight, puretide may sound cool but so far he is just a name. Farsight has more than a title and an endless list of names that he taught. (and it is endless... how many people can a tau teach? They're supposed to have half our lifespan and yet he has taught every tau commander mentioned in 40k)
Farsight has a solid background. He has a list of campaigns and battles, he has a home planet and imagery potraying him. He even has a mystery evolving around him as you don't know whos side he is on.
To me thats far more appealing.
I also dislike shadowsun. To perfect for my liking.
Oh and as for aun'va... the second aun'shi was removed ethereal's became worse than grots.

Warning this user is totally insane...
i think the thread is asking who is the best named character, rather than the best name. and yes, the poll is incomplete.
So to answer the question from that perspective then I would still go for Puretide, but in gaming terms (I/E the existing playable named character) then Shadowsun does have some nice benefits for the more tactical player. Her ability to confer her LDS to other units can be invaluable and she is not to shabby equipment/weapons wise as well. I have never like Farsight I find him to expensive for what he offers and his list restrictions are just that 'to restricting'. The Farsight bomb tactic is Ok for fun but not particularly useful in competitive games.
Aun' Va is just a joke, nuff said
Edit: Just a thought 'unnamed characters' huh! are not all chracters by default 'named'?

I really think you should have put R'Myr because he is awsome but being a FW model I can see why you didnt put him in. So playable has to go to Shadowsun but I really like Farsights fluff is sweet though.(Has he been corrupet by some unseen force no one really knows. Most lean toward yes though and thats why he left the empire.)
