what is the consensus on using a normal avatar or forgeworld avatar in play? i ordered a FW avatar in addition to a normal avatar simply to have as a centerpiece and a display of many hours of painting, but i also thought it would be fun to use in play if it was allowed.
it would technically be a disadvantage to ME because it would be more easily targetable but hell if its usable, why not?
anyone know whats up with that?
How much bigger is it, someone at my club has a FW avatar, but i havnt seen a normal one in person, just in one of the pics in the book, it look bigger than the Banshees, but cant really compare it tp the FW one, i would just rather pay £25 less and get the GW one (and i like the model more tbh)
The FW model, in my mind, is one of the prettiest things on the FW site. While most people like the sworded one, i prefer the more athletic Spear thrower. Very cool, scary model. I don't want an avatar in my army, but if i did, i'd take the shiny new FW one over the GW model any day.
I suppose its partley the price, but also, since he is meant to be molten lava stuff, that model is too big, and would look silly red (the one ive seen painted is gold)
+1 to Zema
No competition in my opinion.
The FW Avatar rules!
Mirage Arcana Podcast
The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
FW all the way, but be careful. Regardless of wether it has sword or spear that's the most fragile part of that model. Mines broken many a time!
Mines white with red in the cracks, just like my angrath.
Of course you can play w/ FW. The rule, at least wher I play, the base counts. An advantage or disadvantage.
