Hello there, i'm getting back to tyranids after a year and a half without playing them and getting some new models to celebrate this
I've just ordered two sets of wings from FW for some winged warriors but was wondering what setup i should give them besides the wings.
I've seen a devourer setup for them which seems pretty nice since you can't hop from one CC to another in 5th edition i don't see myself playing them CC more as a shooty mobile unit.
What do you guys think ? should i play them differently and are they usefull at all ?
I personally don't like Devourers on Warriors because you're really spitting out a multitude of S2 shots. S2 isn't going to do that well against much.
Personally, I have all Warriors with Deathspitters and one with a Barbed Strangler. With the Devourers, you'll be hitting an average of two out of four shots anyways. With Deathspitters, you'll average around two hits per unit and have a greater chance of wounding even Marines.
If you're taking Devourers, at least give them Toxin Sacs.
If you're winged, you could make do with a purely CC-oriented Warrior squad.
Devourers are -1S so would make they shots S3 and S4 with toxins which i was planning to put on
I'm not convinced of CC winged warriors, i'd rather make them leap and acompany hormagaunts or something.
But to acompany a flyingdakkarant i was considering winged warriors with devourers.
I was just wondering if anyone ever used winged warriors with some degree of success and how they are equipping them
