Would a Carnifex, being fearless but not a synapse creature, be immune to Instant Death caused by such weapons as Wraithcannon, force weapons, Skulltaker, Slaanesh daemon weapons, Apocalypse Strength D weapons, etc.? Would they be protected if within range of a synapse creature?
The Carnifex is imune to instant death from all of the above except D strength weapons when under the influence of synapse as stated in the codex. D strength weapons are covered in the apocalypse rulebook.
Remember that Carnifexes, being fearless, get all the benefits from being within synapse range, they just never revert to Instinctive Behaviour.
So in summary, a force weapon can Instant Death a carnifex as long as the fex is outside of synapse.
"The internet perceives censorship as damage, and routes around it."
I have a question. Does force weapon cause instant death or just kill the enenmy outright?
The under synapse rule in the codex actually says that immune to instant death caused by weapons double the strength, but nothing else. Is there any strength 12 weapons in 40k that will be fired at a fex. Did i misread the rule or people just assume instant death by any weapons or character rules?
And if a gaunt is in synapse, does it take an armour save or die straight away when being attacked by Power fist?
The FAQ made a change to the codex wording. It is simply "immune to instant death" This is all forms, that use Instant Death. I believe this includes most force weapons but I think the GK are the exception as theirs doesn't use that terminology. Also all protection from Instant Death does is, stop multi-wound models from dying in one hit. It will not grant armor saves to something that would not normally get it.
Also, in normal 40k there are no weapons, or characters with a Strength above 10. It's only when you get into the high point world of Apocalypse that a Carnifex can suffer ID, because of a weapons S value.
