Welcome to Librarium Online!
I want to hear what you think of who is the best babysitter for Wraithlord?
My army will possibly include two of them. Other forces would be: two dire avenger squads in serpents with doomseers, large spider squad, large outflank scorpion squad. So most part of the army will go forth fast, and wraithlords are there to provide support fire with BL + EML, just move forward and fire until I'm near enemy lines. Then they'll scorch something there maybe.
So, I want to have some unit that will negate wraithsight effect, ie I need a warlock somewhere. But I have some options for that, and I can't spend a lot of points on that unit.
So, who will be best for that role?
2. Guardian jetbikes
3. Seer council (very unlikely, but hey)
4. Harlies (weird choice, but they can have psyker)
5. Detach doomseer from avengers (and place him in some unit or give jetbike)
Of course, I won't be playing against gunlines only, so that unit must also be flexible enough for some range of situations. And as cheap as possible. And better a troops choice. So in fact I'm thinking of guardians, but there's something that I dislike about them. And I'm only starting to play W40K, so I'm asking you comrades for your advice and experience.
Maybe there're even some options that I just can't see. If so, please open my eyes for them.
If you are planning on using the WL as a fire base my vote would be guardian defenders give them a scatter laser or EML with a embolden warlock. They can walk up the board with them shooting as they go. I wouldn't take harlies or a council to babysit but if you already have them in your list they can do a decent job.
Your not alone in hating guardians, but they can fill the role your asking the cheapest and possible the best also. ( just so you know I'm not one of the guardian haters but there are alot of them out there )
I like the Harlies as a babysitter, because they do have a psyker, and the wraithlords tend to distract from the Harlies. Then when you get close, the Lords can take the charge and the Harlies can clean up the mess. Plus the Lords can act as a tarpit, allowing the Harlies to hit and run to get more advantageous assaults.

I agree with both things said... having another squad of troops is probably the way to go, cause at the moment you only have 2... and guardian defenders with scatter laser and embolden warlock will take care of everything for you. Harlies are great, because if the wraithlord gets embroiled in a tar pit they can get them out right fast, and Harlies are just plain awesome.
I would say Harlequins as unlike Guardians they can actually perform on the battlefield instead of just being an anti-Wraithsight unit. And yes, the Wraithlord tends to take people's attention off the Harlequins so once they get close they can wreak havoc without having to move too far away from the Wraithlord.
Seems like a bit of crazy - to keep such wonderful melee unit in the back, but it might work really nasty. Becouse harlies would compensate both vulnerabilities - wraithsight and horde tarpiting. I can only see two major problems here: template shooting-scattering at harlies, and deepstriking\podding\infiltrating units that could try to shoot them. How can I mitigate the risk of that happening?
HAh can you really use a Shadowseer to remove the need for Wraithsight blimey i never thought of that. Wow that means my Wratihlord and Harly assault idea can actually function without a Farseer holding its hand.
you cannot shoot my harliquins because beneath their mask is an idea and ideas are bulletproof
Take a group of Storm Guardians with two Flamers and a Warlock with Embolden. Flamers make up for the fact that Guardians have poor BS and Storm Guardians can stand their ground and capture objectives rather well while the Wraithlord stands in front and absorbs hits and acts as a strong fire base.
Guardian defenders have 12" range and Assault 2 whereas Storm Guardians trade 1 shooting shot with 1 close combat attack. If your defenders are going to be within 12" of the enemy, you may as well assault because they're going to likely assault you next turn. Storm Guardians also act as a nice countercharge unit for when your Wraithlord gets assaulted by undesirables such as Ork Boyz with a PowerKlaw Nob. If your Storm Guardians get assaulted, so be it, you probably have higher initiative to escape or Embolden to stay in combat. You will waste their time with a disposable unit that can capture objectives.
Warlock Squad (as long as you have a Farseer HQ) if you have 3/4/5 of them, mabey with the farseer (dont need two Farseers i dont think) that could work
