    Least Favorite Army to Play Against?

    Hey guys, I'm kinda stealing this idea from the IG forum, I just wanted to see which armies people have had the most frustration playing against and why? The why is important, I really want to get a feel for which armies eldar don't play well against so I can tweak my list accordingly.

    Personally I have playing against the witch hunters, I think that exorcists are the ultimate anti-eldar tank, st8 AP1 shots means that they are not affected by the WS energy field but can still pack a punch. Also their abundance of storm bolters and heavy bolters own most eldar troops in general. Oh and heavy flamers aren't very pretty either.

    I chose Orks. I haven't played against that many armies (Orks, Chaos, Tyranids,Necrons and Tau who are owned by my friends each and all) but Orks seem to give me the most trouble. I think I've beaten them once or twice in total. I don't know if it's my build or what, but I never seem to have enough models/shots to gt rid of them all. Even with things like 3x Warwalkers with Scatterlaserss and DA squads, I always seem to get overwhelmed.

    well ever since the new marines codex came out it seems they are grossly overpowered. almost every unit is cheaper points wise and/ or more powerful, tac. squads now come with combat tactics, missle launchers, and krak/frag grenades for free!!! mabye its just because ive always disliked marines but it seems to me they made the new codex way to powerful.

    i voted witch hunters, all their anti farseer stuff is a pain, plus their sheer amount of bolters and flamers are the bane of most eldar units, along with the god dam exorcist, but in response to nigleboyette, marines arent overpowered, i've played them a few times, i've found that i have no problems with drop pods, i just leave my da in transports so i'm guaranteed first shot against them, and as with everything else, they need 10 marines to get a heavy or special weapon, and that means a guaranteed 190 points already, plus combat squads just give out the kp's. back on topic, i hate witch hunters, fullstop.
    especially their acts of faith, pain in the *** if you ask me

    witch hunters. they make your glorious battle plans stop dead in their tracks.

    "ok im going to unleash a full squad of power lance hits on that squad..."

    "ok, *rolls* they are now invulnerable saving"

    "...damnit"

    Haha yea I know, all of those acts of faith are ridiculous, what I find even more stupid is that book that they can take that allows them to roll their leadership tests at Ld9 even when you wipe out 5 of them with your avatar in close combat, after which they'll promptly get invulnerable saves for the rest of the battle.

    i have only played against orks and imperial guard
    imperial guard imo arent really that good cuz they always miss and suck in cc not really scared of them.
    Orks on the other hand are just a pain in the ass. i know they have bad BS but they have a lot of shots and then followed up by the volume of attacks in CC and decently strong and tough. they are just bad to deal with imo. lootaz, nobs, painboys, 'koptas, the big trukk thing they have with 14 front armour and the attacks from tank shocking...scarey

    i want to play against SMs also i think they would be hard to deal with.

    Only list I ever fought with my eldar that sucked was a grey knight list. It was as follows.

    HQ = GM + 5 GKT = 450 points
    - w/ psycannon, unguents of warding, hammerhand
    - 1 w/ psycannon

    Elites = Inquisitor = 175 points
    - w/ eviserator
    - 3 guards w/ melta guns
    - 2 sages
    - rhino w/ extra armor

    Troops = 6 PAGKs = 235 points
    - justicar w/ unguents of warding
    - 2 w/ psycannon
    Troops = 6 PAGKs = 235 points
    - justicar w/ unguents of warding
    - 2 w/ psycannon
    Troops = 6 PAGKs = 235 points
    - justicar w/ unguents of warding
    - 2 w/ psycannon
    Troops = 6 PAGKs = 235 points
    - justicar w/ unguents of warding
    - 2 w/ psycannon

    Heavy Support = Dreadnought = 145 points
    - twin-lascannon, extra armor, missile launcher
    Heavy Support = Dreadnought = 145 points
    - twin-lascannon, extra armor, missile launcher
    Heavy Support = Dreadnought = 145 points
    - twin-lascannon, extra armor, missile launcher

    He sat back and fortified a corner and just shot most of my army to death, psycannons just eat eldar, and basically his whole army caused instant death in shooting and close combat for my 2 farseer who were basically useless due to the aegis armor rule and the unguents. It ended on turn 5 as a draw (base objectives) he had his and i still had mine but another turn or 2 and i most likely would of lost horribly. What made it worse was the grey knights were mine and my friend was just test them for a tourny as he didnt want to use his army again.

    Well, to be fair I haven't run into grey knights yet, and I keep hearing about these Nob bikers for Orcs. But I guess local players are still working on putting together the cash if they're going to go with those.

    In the meantime I voted necrons, but that's just because my current army doesn't have a very good monolith buster, nor am I swinging in with that many power weapons.

    If an Eldar player with a budget was expecting necrons we could probably make life really hard on them with fire prisms, banshees, and wraithguard.
