quick question what ravengers do You use (3x dark lance, 2x desintegratiors and 1 dark lance, or 3 desintegraitors)? I always use 3 desintegraitors, but maby 2 desintegraitors and lance is more usefull?
I personally don't like to mix an match. If you are firing at infantry, you want all disintegrators. You'll get more kills with a blast than with a DL. If you are firing at vehicles, disintegrators aren't very effective unless they have a low armor value, so you'd want 3 DL's. The decision depends on the rest of your army. Unless you need the extra tank killing power, I would stick with 3 disintegrators.
I usually run two ravagers with 3 dissies, and one with 3 lances. The sheer ridiculous amount of damage the dissies are capable of inflicting is far too much to pass on.
That said, keeping a ravager with 3 lances in reserve to hop on the board at some poor tank's flank is really useful. My army generally has enough anti-tank firepower, but I've found that the 3rd ravager can more efficiently serve a better purpose.
[...] So I burst into his office and exclaimed, quite frankly, "That's Numberwang." As I recall it, he cried.
Lately I've been using only dark lances on all my Ravagers and relegating the disintegrators to my Raiders. This allows me to spread the threat of the disintegrators around (instead of losing 3 dissies to a single krak missile), getting more unobstructed shots with those blast templates. If three DLs go down with a Ravager, at least I've still got blasters. The only drawback is that the Ravagers can only move 6" if they want to fire all three guns, which makes this a less desirable choice for games with lots of close combat (ex: Daemons) or games on really large boards (ex: 4' x 8').
The "Vect" layout still has a lot of merit though. I used to use only that, and could easily switch back. The idea is that you trade-off the ability to pop a Land Raider with a single unit for increased versatility and maneuverability. The Vect layout can move 12" and spit out 7x AP3 or better shots, and it can also be really good against vehicles with armor 12 or lower since blasts are more likely to hit than a straight 3+.
I use 2 ravagers with 3 lances and 1 rav with 3 dissy's.
I like to take care of armor first then let the army mop up the rest. When you knock out the enemys transports you really take control of the game. Yah, 3 dissys are nice but when your entire army is geared to go into CC then I find the dissys compete for the same targets.
With all the armor that is being promoted with IG and SM I really never run out of targets for them.

At the moment just running two Ravagers, one with 3 Dark Lances, the other with 3 Dissies.
Concentrate on tasks, don't make Ravagers jacks of all trades.
Innovation suffuses this hobby like a tea bag in the boiling water of play.
Ok I will admit that I am the odd one out.
I have one Ravager with 1 lance and 2 disintergrators and the other with the opposite.
Just seemed like a good idea at the time!
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
I like the Vect setup too, though I do only have the one at the moment. Darned things costing money. Grrrr ...

I have two, which I usually run in a triple lance format.
