    Eldar v Space Marines

Starting and Eldar army that will be 100% anti marines. I was thinking...

    10 Dire avengers
    10 gaurdians
    10 Banshees
    10 Fire Dragons
    10 Reapers
    5 Wraith gaurd
1 Farseer with Guide and Doom

Which of those should I get first? Whcih is better, what Eldar would u field against Marines?

10 Reapers are a ridiculous amount of points. The Marines are going to get a cover save against you. Take more Fire Dragons.

Additionally, if you're going against a lot of marines, a Wraithlord would be nice. It cannot be wounded by bolters.

You should also get vehicles, Wave Serpents especially.

oooooooooooo! Not woonded by bolters! Hmmmm, that sounds tasty, and yeah I just did a mock up army list, dark reapers cost twice as much as every other aspect! :p Prehaps ditch the reapers in favour of a Wraithlord...

-dooming guided dire avengers are good versus anyone
-avatars can be sick if used right
-dont listen to what anyone says about starcannons, they are overpriced and scatter lasers are much better, seeing that most marines will be in cover anyway
    - Fire prisms are great against meqs
-wraithlords are good, just dont overdo the points cost and be careful of powerfist sarges
    -banshees are good too
    -reapers are way too expensive

i have some good experiences playing against marines, i had eldrad, and 2 dire avenger squads and 2 waveserpents a falcon and 6 fire dragons pop out on his left flank, he had 2 marine squads and a 5 man dev squad or something, one marine squad was a combat squad though, but yes anyway, guiding and dooming the the DA's and there goes his 10 man marine squad, fire dragons managed to kill the 5 man combat squad and i reduced his dev squad to 2 men with scatter lasers, and that was his fire base the rest of his army was running around the other flank, because i deployed first then used eldarad divinations to redeploy everyone (: and from, there he was fighting a massive uphill battle.
long story short, anything with lots of shots is great against marines, especially dire avengers guiding/dooming and scatter lasers, ap 2/3weapons never hurt, especially the cheaper ones, e.g fire dragons but star cannon are quite overpriced, and i wouldn't really bother.

I must disagree on the no reapers front, Reapers are power armour killers without compare. Yes their pricey and need to be looked after but 4 lead by an Exarch with Tempest Launcher and Crack shot are capable of wiping a Tac squad off the map in one round of fire on an average set of rolls.

In my eyes no truely "anti-power armour" force is complete without a squad of these guys.

Guided reapers with exarch+crack shot and tempest launcher = 10 marines/turn dear at least. but they cost much. you need to position them good and be sure they are in cover. Tempest launcher is a barrage weapon so do not need line of sight (is also a pinning weapon so a few tests don`t hurt )

2 x fire prism also works good.

    Banshees do good against smurfies.

avatar is a killing machine, starcannons are good for games with few cover, scatter lasers for those in cover.

Avengers are good against anyone. dragons are insane also.

Against regular marines scorps are good too. Just do not put them against any combat specialist of the smurfies(capitans, librars, chaplains squads, chapter masters, vanguard, sternguard etc).

wraithlords can be mean (s10 attacks rerolls with wraithsword, 2 flamers for some extra kills before or 1 flamer 1 scatter laser)

As a marine player what I fear the most is Dark Reapers - I've lost whole squads on turn 1 from them before. Wraithlords are also good, as most standard weapons can't hurt them - but they do attract a lot of firepower.

Howling banshees + Doom is quite a scary combination, especially with an Exarch.

10 Fire dragons might be excessive unless you know you'll have a lot of landraiders to hunt. Fire dragons are not meant for shooting guys in power armor, they should be meant for either hunting shooty termies (i.e. no 3+ invuln) or tanks, and for that purpose 6 in a falcon or maybe a few more in a wave serpent should be plenty.

agreed, ten DA's bladestorming a doomed squad is more likely to kill 10 marines than 10 fire dragons are. at least i think they are.
