So I was reading riki's post on xv8 builds again and was thinking about what rikie said about plasma rifles, how if there could be a hard wired targetting array, that every xv8 would have the following build twin linked missile podws, plasma rifle, multi tracker and hard wired targetting array.
Well, I was thinking that generally Shas'o's are frowned upon, and are overly expensive xv8 builds. But I tried a layout the other day that had a shas'O, and already being at bs 5 there is no need for a targetting array, so that I could take twin linked missile pods and a plasma rifle.
Alternatively, one could use riki's other suggesstion and buy a markerlight drone and simple buy a multi tracker since the drone has a networked markerlight, and just use it to up ones bs every turn. For the first method my commander came out to 158 points with two shield drones, and for the second I have not yet counted it up, but I believe riki's suggesstion of markerlight carrying shas'el's was 137. admittedly, the shield drones were not cheap
But I had an absolutely fantastic game with my loadout, managed to kill of my opponents special eldar character, maugen-ra in one round of shooting and then destroy both his waveserpants ^.^ in the rest of the game. Just thought that I would bring up this suggesstion as food for thought, whether the points cost is too much.

I never twin-link weapons on a BS5 model; it's basically wasted points. I miss maybe one or two shots an entire game when fielding my Shas'els with targeting arrays; spending additional points to make those one or two misses hits instead isn't really worth it unless there really isn't anything else to spend those points on (not likely, in my lists). In the case of a Shas'el twin-linking, I would only do it if I didn't take a targeting array on the model, but in that case you have to argue as to whether twin-linking a single weapon is worth it more than taking the targeting array.
I think the only case where it would be a valid option would be for regular Crisis suits, as opposed to the two options you have for your HQ. Their maximum BS would be 4, so the twin-linking will still help a lot, as opposed to only a little bit with a BS5 model. Unfortunately, it's not an option for us at this point in time.
3x Plasma rife
3x Missile pod
3x Multi tracker
Half the time they have BS 4 while shooting and the team leader can hard wire his MT for extra flexibility.
This is a large expensive unit paying 10 pts a model for a targeting array but when it hits something it'll feel it.
I might prefer to take a body guard for a shas'el and give them targeting arrays but that’s even more expensive, and the other unit could buy another maker drone
In the end its often a better use of points to take more "lower power" suits rather than super suits.
The Tyranid torpedo? Its a giant facehuger cannon. It fires an army of facehugers at the other ships. It should cause fear.
I would say just use pathfinders to up the BS on your fireknives. Personally I don't use fireknives or pathfinders so I can't really say for sure.
