I'm trying to figure out how to model a combi-skorcha on one of my resin nob bikers...but then it occurred to me that why do I want this weapon? One thing I'm careful with is 'overshooting' a target so I can't charge it. If the target is in cover, would I need to use the bikes against it?
I don't know...sell me on this please. I've got so much glued on these guys that it'll be tough to remember how to play them.
Well, I always run my nob bikers with one skorcha, just in case there's someone hiding in some area terrain. My biker boss also gets one.
Okay, I don't really have a good mathhammer or logistical reason...but come on! Fire!
I mostly just like setting stuffs on fire. :3
that's all I needed to hear!
Awesome! My nobz would love to have a BBQ get to'gevva! Save some 'umie fer us!
I run about 2 combi-skorchas in my squads of 7 nob bikers and the biker-boss always has one as well. Its always nice to toast something in cover or bunched up squads of orks but the main reason they are there is cheesey wound allocation >.<
So that 'cheesey wound allocation' thing actually works? It doesn't seem to be worth the trouble.
Reason #1: For the wound allocation cheese.
Reason #2 : It's awesome, fluffy, and orky.
Reason #3: A S5 AP4 template weapon is nothing to sneeze at. Good for dusting up genestealers, eldar, daemonettes, and other low toughness/low save nasties.. Your bound to kill a MEQ or two as well.
Reason #4: Template weapons are too awesome not to use in 5th edition. Anything they touch is wounded afterall. We orks have born the brunt of this, so any chance we have to dish it back is always nice right? Waaagh!
My award winning Orky tale
Three hacked up combi-skorcha nob bikes later....I have to stop. Or they will ALL be that way.
Yes the cheese wound allocation works to great affect. Just make sure not to insta-kill an unwounded model if that happens.
Here's what I've ended up with: (I predict names for each of them)
Warboss - powerklaw, combi-skorcha, cybork body, warbike, attack squig (YES...modeled on!)
Nob 1 - powerklaw, combi-skorcha, cybork body, warbike, WAAAGH! banner
Nob 2 - powerklaw, cybork body, warbike, bosspole
Nob 3 - powerklaw, cybork body, warbike
Nob 4 - Big Choppa, cybork body, warbike
Nob 5 - choppa/slugga, cybork body, combi-skorcha, warbike
Nob 6 - choppa/slugga, cybork body, warbike
Painboy - warbike, grot orderly
They are all modeled with their upgrades....
