Another week, another Apoc game!
Ork Action Photos
What was the Cup thing supposed to be btw?
looks like an ork minelayer. While I may put the occasional unpainted unit or two on the table it is usually because I didnt finish them before the game. Often because I was working on the 60 grots that needed doing, or scratch building the stompa and couldnt paint it.
It was supposed to be in the garbage. And I was tempted to put it there, but it was killed by the destruction of a lot of Imperial stuff blowing up in our turn (the turn it entered the game) so the crisis was temporary.
Next time I'll just dump a garbage can on the table and call it my army....
I can understand your sentiment and it is clear from your pics on your website that money isn't such a problem for you, which is great, but for me (and many of the teenagers the game is generally aimed at) money is a serious issue. When it comes to the available superheavies, like the stompa, many ork players just can't afford it, especially when you need more boys.
As far as I can tell, and feel free to correct me, but you havent scratch built any models. This is a time consuming process which can produce models better than the GW kits (but not often without practice). I would ask that you tone down your responses to peoples scratch building projects until you have embarked on your own.
Besides, was the game announced to be painted models only? If things like that bug you so much why not ask for that to be the case? You may find that you struggle to get opponents though, given the state of your painting table as an example.
None of my models are 100% scratch built, but I feel free to glue stuff randomly. That's one of the reasons I love Orks!
It's not about it being scratch built. The Pulsa Rokkit was scratch built. It's about it looking like something pulled out of the trash because it WASN'T FINISHED.
Most of the stuff there look great....there was some amazing work.
It's not about quality, either. It's about respect. Everyone else worked hard on their models....ONE GUY failed to put a drop of paint on anything he brought.
Sure, but what was his situation? I agree with you fully if he has had the army for 2+ years and is unemployed/has lots of spare time. But what if he has 2 full time jobs and 3 kids. What if he bought them only a couple of days before? If you label someone as disrespectful because they dont bring a painted army to the table you are only being disrespectful yourself. I really hope these opinions were not shared with him on the day. Thats how players leave the game. The last Apoc game I played I was threatened with being run over by a car. My pulsa rokkit was annoying the player in question. It was uncalled for, as may well be your comments. I don't know, and potentially neither do you.
Well, you're wrong and I don't care to debate it here. The guy with the trash doesn't care about painting.
And it shows.
The one game I've played him was WHFB, and he ran two corpse-carts SIDEWAYS because...hey, it's LEGAL. What a git. I won't be playing him again so it hardly matters.
I don't see the problem. From your pics, there are only 3 unpainted things on the table, a trukk, a titan, and a minepig. Two in one army, one in another. The titan I can understand, as they are huge and a bit frightening to paint (not that I have experience). The scratchbuilt "trash" is just unpainted, probably just finished last night, and he wanted to ues it in the Apoc. game. the trukk, also likely just built the night before and needed for the list.
I honestly don't see why you hate so much on 3 things.
