Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was just wondering if Human Auxiliaries can still be used in 5th ed?...since I cannot find the supposed rules for them anywhere. I have heard about them and I like to know all my options for building an army.
You can use them in friendly games but all the tournaments I have looked at this year do not allow them.
If I can find the rules for them I'll forward them to you.
I see how these guys could be useful. Cheap as hell suicide troops. (They are still guard basically). Maybe some cheap guards for Broadsides...when I get some broadsides.
Question: Since you can upgrade a Human 'Ui with a Markerlight, can Gue'vesa benefit from markerlights like other Tau troops? Ie. can they get their BS's upped from ML hits that say a Pathfinder team fired? That would make sense to me... Humans seem like more tech advanced version of the Kroot... mostly expendable
The aux rules do not state that they are 'Tau' (just as the Kroot entry does not for Kroot) so this means that they cannot benefit from Markerlight tokens. I suppose you could justify it by saying that Tau helmets, battlesuit armour, Vespid helms and vehicles have targeting systems tuned to the Markerlights frequency and Aux do not have this equipment.
You could see it as Riki says, they do not possess the targeting systems to take advantage of the marker lights. However, the Tau have graciously provided the human aux's with the ability to call in seeker missiles.
In a tactical sense, why would you waste a ML hit on lasgun shots anyway. Yeah, maybe if you had nothing else to use them for but given the options I would not bother with it. On the other had, it does give you an inexpensive troop choice with a ML.
