Welcome to Librarium Online!
hey guys. I just got some bits the other day that are going to allow me to use the ion cannon on my hammerhead. I needed the bits cause I normally use the rail gun. I"m just using the ion cannon to try somthing new, but I was wondering if anyone uses it on a regular basis, and how they like it's performance.
Yeah, alot of time for my higher point battles against Space Marines I take one HH with a railgun and one with an ion cannon mainly because the railgun is a one shot deal and the ordance gives SM they're saves, while I get three shots with the ion cannon odds are 2 will land and wound next to the one that the railgun gives me.

I only use the Ion cannon in battles against space marines and the like. Otherwise I'd rather have a railgun on the hammerhead. The Tau really need a unit besides the HH that can use an Ion cannon, like broadsides for example.

Broadsides with TL Ion Cannons...that is a REALLY cool conversion idea. I bet you could get an opponent to let you take some in a friendly game -- if they weren't scared to face AP 3 doom...MWAHAHAHA!!!
Ion Cannons are great. I think they need an upgrade or something so that they're more useful against non-power armor armies. I don't see enough of them.
I think Ion cannons are great against marines/Necrons.
I never glued my gun on my HH so I can adjust it against armys. Against 'crons DH and SM I use Ion cannon and add Broadsides for Tank killing.
