Played in the KublaCon Golden Gargant tournament this past Sat in San Fran. I took my orks with some slight revisions from another tourny 1850 list i used (and won) in a smaller local tourny in Dec. The turnout was really nice with I think 58 players.
8 Kommandos (2 burnas), Snikky
3 Manz (1 rokkit, 1 flamer), Battlewagon (armor, rigges, ram, big shoota)
29 sluggas, nob klaw/pole
29 sluggas, nob klaw/pole
19 shootas (2 big shootas), nob klaw pole
2 rokkit buggies (1 squad)
3 killa kans w/ KMB (1 squad)
Game 1: Space marines
His list looked something like: Chappy, Cassius, 5 sterngaurd, shooty dread, assualty dread, a number of combat squads set up for shooting, 4 razorbacks, whirlwind, autocannon HB pred, vindi.
The game was corner deployment with 5 objectives. The way it worked out 4 of the objectives were in or right near my deployment.
I basically hunkered down behind kans and the BW and didn't need to ventrure very far out (KFF FTW). He stole first turn from me but his shooting ended up lacking. Sniky came turn 2 and charged two combat squad and the pred, popped the pred. Two more combat squad charge him and he somehow held out a few rounds of combat. Most of the batte was us trading shots, he kept some things in reseve but it didn't work out well for him. In the end there were too many boys for him to displace. We called it at the top of trun 5 with about 10 minutes left with me on 3 (easily going to have 4) objectives to his none (he could have got 1).
Either way it would have rolled major vitory orks 17 points, plus my highest point unit survived so +1 (out of possible 20 points).
Game 2: Blood Angels
His list looked something like: Meph, Dante, 9 death company, 10 man assualt troops, 2 rhinos with marines, 2 MM attack bikes, Vindi, 2 baal preds, oh and Furioso dread in drop pod.
The game was long edge deployment, single objective in each deployment zone. I lined up to move across the board and he mostly tucked into a corner.
Turn one i got the kans to pop both attack bikes and pretty much moved forward. His preds ended up routing off my lootas. Turn 2 snikky came in again and charged the two preds and a rhino. Popped one pred (go snikky!) stunned the other and wiffed on the rhino. Buggies and kans immobilized and weapon destroyed the vindi, and the battlewagon surged forward again, unleashing Ghaz's waaagh to charge and kill off the death company. His turn saw the assault squad and meph kill sniky, pred actually turned AROUND to tank shock sniky moving them toward that squad also. Rhinos moved toward objectives, and the dread landed between my shootas (camping objective) and my BW. He chose to shoot the BW but only managed to shake it (go armor plates). Turn 3 for me saw a lucky rokkit shot from the manz pop the back of the pred, ghaz charged the dread, and boyz were now swarming his objective, while my shootas attempted to kill the drop pod (failed). He managed to then kill of my buggies while gazzie finally killed the fuiouso.
The rest of the game was basically a scrum on his objective while I held my own (finally popped that drop pod). It was a bloody mess but in the end a handful of sluggas held the objective with a few kans, ghaz, and the manz nearby, with my shootas holding my objective. My kannons were also there out of range and inaffective the whole game. He had two rhinos that were immobilized, and the weaponless immobilized vinidi.
Major victory orks 17 points, +1 for killing his highest point unit.
Game 3: Nurgle Daemons
His list looked like most of these type, Epi, Named Unclean huge guy, hearald, 2 nurgle princes, and 4 or 5 plaugebearer squads with instruments and icons.
The game was dow and kill points. He let me set up and I put my 2 30 boyz squad in the center of the board with the KFF, spread out as much as i could.
Turn 1 i brought everything on and advanced my 60 boys up, again spreading out as much as i could. The biggest key was moving my BW directly in the center with ghaz and the manz. He ended up getting the 1/2 he wanted and was basically forced to DS around the edges of the board. His units all made it barely on board safely, but Epi ended up pretty close to my units. My turn two sniky came out to engage one plaguebearer unit, rokkits and lootas (who were on fire this game), downed the prince, sluggas moved in on another plague squad, and the battlewagon roared up and waaghed ghazzie/manz into epi, killing him and his squad off. That was pretty much that game, as the rest of his stuff came in spread out, giving me opportunity to kill it off. He did have the named great unclean one kill off one boyz squad before i downed it, and another plaguebearer squad went for my kannons for the easy KP, but in the end he was tabled off the board.
Major victory for orks, getting perfect 20.
in the end i had the 3rd best general score at 56 (there were two perfect 60s), but there were 71 other points given based off of Composition, Painting, and sportsman. In the end i ended up in 2nd place at 112, well behind the excellently done Ultramarine army (perfect 60 general, 120 overall), and barely eeking ahead of another beautiful Dark Angels army (110 overall).
This was my first BIG convention and I had a blast. My local stores are really 90% all based on winning, so it was nice to see the comp/painting/sportsman score play out. There were lots of cool people, tons of great looking armies, and hopefully a lot of fun for everyone involved.
Looking forward to the next Waaaagh!
(Forgiveness to the great people I played if I mixed your list up a bit, I'm sure there are a few small errors there.)

Thanks for sharing and way to represent!
Thanks. The guys I played were really nice guys so that was really excellent.
Of the 58 guys there were 6 ork players altogether, which i was surprised to see so few. Nob bikers were popular, I'm not sure if i was the only ork player who didn't have them. Also there were suprisingly no '4 battlewagon' lists, tho most of us had one or two.
On game 3 one of the other ork players was on Table #1 with a perfect 40 points against a heavy termie/lysander list, but the SM went on to win best general. I know the ork commander also ran ghazzie and KFF mech as well, but i think he slogged ghazzie with boys and let the nob bikers run without a warboss.
A number of IG players turned out but most of the lists looked like modified version of the old codecs. A few valkyries (no more than one a list), a pyscher squad here and there, but no crazy tank squads.
As I imagined lots of marines, MEQs were about 1/2 the people playing.
Just some notes for those looking to go to tournies!
Now I'm worried about my nob bikers. After spending $$$ on the Forge World models and customizing them, they are common? Yikes.
I'm not worried about them being too powerful....I just wanted the "WOW" factor.
Well i saw at least two Forgeworld biker bosses there. I don't actually remember looking hard enough to see if the others were actually forgeworld nobz or just normal warbikers made out as nobs. I want to say more of the later, so you probably will still get a big 'WOW' from some nicely painted up forgeworld bits.
