Hey i just bought me an starter kit and i opened, awesome bits!
But i am to start assembling the genestealers.. And i only saw 2 Feeder tendrils, and i just thought.. Hmm.. When i choose a biomorph i can only choose one. Is that one type of biomorph, or can i have mixed like 3 feeder tendril on 3 and 7 flesh hooks on 7?
I got the idea because i only saw 2 feeder tendrils in the bits..
One for the whole brood. You can't have half with tendrils, half with hooks.
All models in a brood have to have the same biomorphs.
Either model the rest of your tendrils with greenstuff, or just don't play WYSIWYG but you can't split biomorphs in the same brood.
I see nothing wrong with having a couple guys in a brood with feeder tendrils, and just saying the whole brood has it. Just make sure to keep those guys that display feeder tendrils on the board so it doesn't get confusing. Modeling the whole squad to have feeder tendril heads would certainly look better, but it can be a pain to round up enough of those heads.
Also, this way, you aren't forced to use feeder tendrils all the time. If all your genestealers are modeled with feeder tendril heads, then they're stuck with that. Then if there comes a time when you don't feel like taking that biomorph to free up points or whatever, you'd have to use a whole other set of models.
There are a few ways to get over this problem.
1. Don't play WYSIWYG, or tell the opponent that the whole brood is feeder tendril.
2. Use green stuff
3. Order extra heads of the internet. Many websites like battlewagon bitz and ebay supply feeder tendril just because GW doesn't supply enough in the box.
PS: as to why GW doesn't give enough feeder tendrils? Money, money, money.

Ok, thanks everyone for the answers!
But the thing i wanted answer was if it was allowed to have half of that and half of another.
And if one has a biomorph (say tendrills) Then everyone doesnt need to have that right? Since "almost everyone will benefit from it if you have like 3 with tendrils in a squad.
Anyway thanks everyone!
all the models in the brood must have the same biomorph. so you have to pay the points to put feeder tendrils on all of them, but you cannot give half of them feeder tendrils and leave the rest without them (unless you divide them into two separate broods, one with feeder tendrils and the other without them... but that would take up and additional slot on your Force Organization chart).
I see you can only pick one biomorph. But that is for one each, and not more!.. But where does it say that it has to have the same upgrade and that everyone must have that? please give me the page and line where it i stated that i cant.
My idea was as i said having 50/50 feeder and the other half flesh hooks. And i cant see anything that is saying no to that. Anyone is welcome to prove me wrong =)
I just want it 100% before i start modeling my genestealers.

Rule wise, the whole brood must have the same biomorphs (inluding the option to have no biomorphs)
For modeling purposes, unless you play uptight opponants/tournaments I suggest you make most of your stealers with default (normal) heads and make a couple with feeder tendrills. When you deploy the unit have a couple with the tendrills in the unit.
As of Tyranid 5th Ed. codex I have the Gaunts I wanted. I did, however, loose the sniperfexs I relied upon and they were more important then the gaunts.
Ok, i accept it.. =)
But what about the broodlord? And his retinue?
Can the broodlord have feeder tendrils and the genestealers flesh hooks? They are the retinue but "different" Right?
