Hey Yquishaman, I haven't seen you around, so Welcome to the Necron Tomb!

Nids can be a bit of a tough army to beat, since they have some pretty serious ability to get right into close combat.

Really my best suggestion for you is to get some destroyers, their firepower will rather rapidly level the playing field, S6 will make even the carnifex sit back and think a bit, and their AP 4 will tear through even the 'stealers' armor saves.

Until then, the Monolith is nearlly indistructible to the nids, and it's guns will be able to provide you with steady support. Don't field it under 1250 though, it's a huge chunk of your force.

I do NOT recommend the NB, genestealers with their mass rending attacks can tear it apart. A res orb lord is your best option at the moment.

3 squads of 10 warriors each will get your troops filled out.

Thanks for the advice. Now i need to buy some of those models now. Also that the table we play on is kinda small. Its a oval table 4 1/2 f long by 3 f wide in the middle

Just checked out the post, and Im going o start off by saying, that unless you have a house rule, theres a limit to 2 HQ choices. Also, if money isnt an issue, Id try to get in some bigger games and on aproperly sized table, in the 2500 pt range, that me and a few other people play down here, Ive lost maybe two, make sure you keep your Ncrons within the 6" range of your Lord so you can get the WBB from the rends and instant death kills. Also try to make a monolith wall depending on the terrain to try to spilt his force in half and focus fire on one enemy, your biggest threat to take it down faster, and always fire your monolith last. The phase shifter ability on a lord dosent hurt either.

from what I hear from other posters, scarabs can do a bit o damage on stealers and set things up for counter firing warrior squads. like Alzer said, destroyers are great, and a flying circus kinda thing can be fun for taking out sniper fexes and other things that DO like to sit around and tend to get left behind by running broods. I saw what you said you have, but you should look into converting that box of warriors you have yet to assemble into 6 Immortals and 6 Flayed ones for a little pizzazz. A small squad or two of Flayed ones can also achieve the similar role of the scarabs as a set up/light dmg dealer for covering your warrior squads. Good luck with everything and try to proxy whatever kinds of combos seem fun to keep your enemies guessing...It's hard to do with our limited/expensive selection, but hey, have some fun and try out stuff in these casual games so you can gain an idea of what YOU might want to buy/convert in the future! necrons have such a similar theme amongst their troops that you can convert most all units with just the models in a battleforce! Good luck and try to vary things to have a little fun and get the most out of your army!

    All the Best,

    Abbazabba

sweet, thanks if any one can, can they link the post which it discuss the conversions, and the only thing about the bads army is that it is purely made for assaults, he didn't equip them with guns

Well if is plays really assault heavy make sure to keep your units within 18" of the monolith. If they get stuck in CC you can Teleport them out at the start of movement. This then leaves his squad open for firing

That only works if you tie combat for the most part, however. Most days if you get charged with non-combat Necron squads they don't tend to live for the next WBB roll. I've found preventing combat via tarpit or assault units to be more effective.

The only thing I can suggest is running a heavy assault force (tough to do with crons) but from what I've seen before I can recommend night bringer, 9 wraiths and a destroyer lord with res orb running with the wraiths. Scarabs are another thing I'll suggest as they should tie him down in combat for a while. But that's just me.
