Has anyone used the spam lists to success?

Now, I should probably clarify what I mean by 'spam list. This involves mostly spamming as many of a certain unit type as possible. Specifically, I am talking about some of the most useful units in our Codex: Tomb Spyders, Scarabs and Destroyers.

Each list would start off with a Necron Lord, 20 Warriors and the rest of the points filled with the unit type. You know the drill, 9 Tomb Spyders, 15 Destroyers, 30 Scarabs. The Tomb Spyders and Scarabs could even be combined. We are only second in being able to field the most Monstrous creatures (Tyranids, being the first) and third when it comes to jetbikes (Space elves being the culprits). Does taking advantage of these factors mean tabletop success?

Has anyone actually ever stuck together 9 Tomb Spyders and 30 Scarabs and used them in a game? Would love to hear the results!

I've seen a list that used a C'tan and 6 tomb spyders along with a few scarabs. The lord and the warriors would be held in reserve while the wall of scary stuff moved forward. By the time the warriors came on the field most enemies didn't have a way to get around the MCs to get at them. It worked rather well all things considered.

Ive known a few people use 15 Destroyer lists to good effect (in 4th ed atleast).

I can imagine the 9 Scorp list to be pretty awesome now given the new MC rules.

In my list I field20 scarabs. Not realy a spam as such but they realy do mess up your opponents troops choices. In a 1500pt game I recently played I only took 10 scarabs, but 5 of them (and five of them alone) managed to take out a whole space marine army. (I was playing against 2 people and the SM player only had 500 points, and they were mostly devastators). Either way, at just ** (self beeped lol) points, their gonna make up their points anyway, even if it is just as cannon fodder.

I run 10 destroyers and can drop MANY MANY things. 15 destroyers would be great. I don't find monoliths to do a TON of dmg, they just don't die is all (suppose it depends on the army).

I also haven't run a wraith wing or 9 spyders.
