For the next codex I think it would be a good idea for Shapers to give the option of giving each Kroot in your squad an extra wound instead of an armor save. It would probably be more expensive...but at least it would not be pointless. I think it would fit kroot fluff either. Kroot do not use much armor...however they might digest some dna that increases their ability to suppress pain or recover from injuries (EAT A DAMN LIZARD...REGROW THAT ARM!!!!)
The kroot would have the benefits of lots of attacks and decent initiative while opponents would have the benefit of better armour saves. An extra point on the cost would be about right I think.
Another vote for +1 Init, and for them to be actually given a 6+ save rather than have to take a flippin' "I cost Four Kroot" Shaper and then pay for the save on top of that.
"Tau Commandment #226: Participants who use Velocity Trackers in the Tau Clay Pigeon Tournament will be disqualified"
because orks actually wear armor...its just really crappy armor.
Kroot are all about speed and evolutionary stuff.
I think the possibilities could include:
+1 Toughness and/or FNP
Fleet of... Hoof
Overall I like the idea of shapers giving kroot some sort of advantage, as they are useless in the current codex.

Yet i think the most fluffy way of solving the issue would be to give kroot "biomorphs" similar to the ones tyranids have. It fits the fluff of a shaper evolving his clan by allowing them to eat certain organisms to give them certain traits.
Deleted due to my being a dumb ass
