Do u kill a monolith?
I played a necron dude 1500, I had 20 dragons shoot at it. And it was fine....
u missed with 20 dragons? that a huge bad roll squad.
You can use the wraithguard for better results or close combat wraithlords or dual prisms combo
or of course ignore it and phase out the ugly robot...20 dragons can wipe so many necron warrior squads in a game i almost cry of joy thinking.
The monolith has funky rules that make traditional Eldat AT like Lances and Fire Dragons pretty worthless against it, you need pure high strength or auto damage rolls.
Haywire grenades, Witch weapons, Wraithlord punches, Wraithguard, D-cannons, linked Fire Prisms or in a desperate situation 21"+ Serpent rams can all put significant hurt on a lith.
"ask not the Eldar a question, for he will give you three answers, all of which are true and terrifying to know"
heheh, just D-cannoned it!
I hate D-Cannons so much! SOOOOO SLOW! Cant move and shoot and has a terrible range for a support weapon! 24" is awefull, whenevr i used mine it always got blasted by a weapon with longer range! However, it tears everything it hits apart! Prefer to use wraithguard, with their portable d-cannons =P
You just don't know how to use them... They are fragile. The first time I used them all 3 died in the first turn lol. But now I shield them behind gardians, which also shoot there platform. The rang is crap so deploy them in the middle up fron if u can. Worked epically today cos we played objectives and I put my objective about 18" from the D-cannons.
D cannons are great for fun lists, but I have to say they are really not meant for a competitive list. They scatter way too much, they have crap range, they are slow and unwieldy, and any good opponent will avoid them. Id rather take a fireprism with holofields for the same amount: 60 inch range, choice between ordinance and blast marker, and can move 12 inches while still firing.
The Hand that guides.
I dunno I think overall they are underated.I think Eldar have loads of amazing ranged weaponry and with a tank you get a small amount of it, with batteries and warwalkers u get loads. And they are cheap. Fragile but they dish out some major punishment.
They're fairly expensive for a couple Guardians, and they have no mobility, breaking the fluidity of the army, Prism tanks are a better choice IMO, harder to kill, much longer range, can move and shoot, and can link for AP3 large blasts, what's not to like?
