So ive been reading and noticed that the codex says the particle whip is a blast, meaning it has the smaller of the blast templates, a few seconds ago i was looking up stats of other races in the 5th ed rulebook, i turned to the cron page and i noticed somthing.... the particle whip on 5th say it has a LARGE blast. does this override the codex and make the particle whips template the bigger one?
From what I understand in the codex it also says it is ordinance so it should use the big blast.
yea, but it says ordinance 1/ blast, meaning it would be the smaller blast template, not the large one. right?
Page 58 of the BRB under "Ordnance Weapons"
"Unless their profile specifies otherwise, all ordnance blast weapons use the large blast marker."
It is also stated in the FAQ that the particle whip uses the large template.
(WH40K) Dark Eldar - (12,000pts) Sisters of Battle - (5000pts) Dark Angels -(3500pts) (WHFB) Dark Elves - (10,000pts) Beastmen - (5000pts) Empire - (3000pts) Wood Elves - (1500pts)
The ordinance was the only weapon in 3ed that got large blasts, so they said ordinance blast to this purpose. In 5ed they've changed the rules substantially, however the Necron codex IS NOT WORDED for 5ed so just ignore that. it uses the large blast template.
If you look at the back of the BRB, it tells you that its the Large Blast too
