These darn nids. I really need some advice on how to kill these guys. Do Burna Boyz help? Should I get a huge load of lootas? Please reply!
my main opponent plays nids and the burnas helped sooo much. Bugs hate fire. Nobz/MANZ with kombi-scorcha would help too cuz burna boys without a transport probably won't last too long. Lootas help too. I usually focus my lootas fire on the bigger heavy pieces, and keep my burnas and regular boys with the gaunts/genestealers.

I've been playing my brother, a Tyranid player, for years. I feel your pain, as they're our superiors, but a few tips to help you along:
If you're taking Burnaz, take a transport (They just can't destroy them).Doesn't necessarily have to be a battlewagon, bear in mind. If some boyz are prepared to bail out of their trukk in the first turn and hand it over to the Burnaz, you have a very effective mobile flame-spewing machine. Besides, all goes tits up, pull up and assault a Carnifex, hitting (First with I3 as opposed to Carni's I1 or I2 max.) on a 3 (or 4) and wounding on a 6 with no 2+ saves to worry about, these boyz can bag them a big 'un.
What we lack in quality, we can make up for with quantity. A horde of small and squishy Tyranid's cannot hold it's own against a horde of ladz, so bring as many boyz to the fight as you can. On the other hand, if he's running a Nidzilla army, get the Power Klaw Nobz on the scene, and take advantage of the mob rule to stop your boyz leggin' it from a lost combat.
Back to the Burnaz, ever considered Kommandoz packin' two Burnaz? My favourite unit's a crack squad of 6 Kommandoz, including two Burnaz, led by Boss Snikrot himself. Any table edge, any turn (XD), someone's gunna get Burned
As for taking advantage of missions, their troops are shyte. Take advantage of this. Hormagaunts and Gaunts aren't worth breaking a sweat over (Play the Burnaz well and you can effectively control where he moves these guys, as they're the most vulnerable), and a Shoota is a Boy'z best friend against Genestealers - Shoot first, ask questions later. Never, under any circumstances, assault these guys. Wipe his troops and the best he can hope for is a draw in objective games. Note: Beware Gaunts with "Without number". Do not try and square up to a unit that's going to respawn at the start of next turn. Shoot 'em, weaken them to 2-3 strong, and ignore them until you need to give them Das Boot off an objective. Also, if memory serves, "Lurking" and Instinctive Behaviour units can't capture objectives, so eliminating synapse is an alternative route to victory.
Fear the Dakka Tyrant. Pack a Kustom Force-Field and lamp that guy as soon as. Like I said, get a Power Klaw Nob or two on the case, backed by enough Boyz to soak up the damage.

You should take tankbustas against nids, as lack of vehicles will override glory hogs. Same base cost as a loota only AP3... That'll take down the big bugs pretty quickly... if they he calls cheese, use the fluff card. (tankbustas fancy themselves as "big game huntas" in the codex. I'm pretty sure a carnifex counts as "big game..."
Any Tyranid player worth his salt would take 2+ saves on all Monstrous Creatures. A good idea in theory but Tankbustaz just can't cut it here.

wait... just checked the nid codex. Carnifex's can get a 2+ save. My bad. Either way em down with loota fire or PK em then. That always works!

killa kans with the skorchas would help. they last a bit longer than burna boys and 3 end up costing the same as 8 burnas
Thanks for the advice. Down with hive fleet Behemoth is (hopefully) about to meet their doom. (the Nid player that I know personally has painted his guys like the hive fleet Behemoth)
Nids. I hate them, if I'm playing any other army. But Orkses.. we'z just too Green for dem bug gitz. Any Nid worth his weight in bio-mass will know not to mess with Orks. Or maybe I'm just arrogant ^_^
::How to stomp Nids::
Monstrous Creatures- Boyz. Throw as many Boyz at them as you please. Each mob will deliver a Power Klaw straight to da big buggy gitz face. Nothing likes Power Klaws to the face.
(Note: If you do not have a PK Nob in EVERY Mob that can select one, you're breaking da law!)
Swarms- Boyz. Again, throw as many Boyz at them as you please. So long as you get the charge, you're Boyz are twice as killy as any gaunt. Hormies and Gargoylse on the other hand, are more diffiult to charge. Hence, sacrificial unit! Use a unit of Grotz (or another Boyz mob) to screen and absorb an assault. Then counter assault with more boyz!

I cannot place enough emphasis - Boyz with a PK Nob will win against Nids!
Once you've had your fill of Boyz, here are some other great support units:
Lootas - They can amass enough fire power to drop a Fex, Tyrant, or Warrior Brood with ease.
Tank Bustas - Go light on them, but if you know your opponent relies upon Warriors for Synapse, their Str 8 doominess is great to insta-deff 'em. I'd avoid them otherwise, however, as they simply lack the volume of fire to be effective, lack of Glory Hogs rule or not.
Bikerz - Again, with a PK Nob. These are one of the best dakka units in our codex! They can shoot just about any swarm unit to bitz, then if your boyz ever get stuck in over their heads, you have a few extra speedy boyz ta race in and save em!
Burna Boyz - Don't go too overboard. They're inneffective without an Open Topped Transport, and since all templates are fired from the hull of the vehicle, and all templates MUST be placed as to cover the maximum number of models in the unit you're targetting.. You really only place one template, and multiply the hits scored by the number of burnas. x10 will be overkill versus any unit. Period.
Killa Kanz - They can squish any bug in combat, even Fexes. Don't rely upon them to take out Carnifexes, though, Boyz do a better job at that. Grotzookas and DCWs will put an end to any swarm, however, and will be a most frustring tar pit to keep his swarms from supporting his other combats.
Trukks - Don't go overboard, again, because the Transport Capacity of 12 won't be too beneficial versus a large swarm.. but Nids suffer from a lack of reliable ranged AV (much like we do) and one or two Trukks would add a nice flavor of speedy support to your army.
Units not to take:
Mega-Nobz. They're too expensive, and the sheer quantity of attacks Nidz can dish out will overhwlem your MANz 2+ sv. If there ever was an army that you MUST get the charge against, it's Nidz, and the MANz SnP does nothing to help that. You'd be better off investing an equal number of points in regular Nobz with 1-2 PKs and a Trukk.
