I am actually a Space Marine player, but I want a gift for my friend who is a Tyranids player. Any suggestions on what I should get him? His army is very basic, only a Tyrant, Carnifex, Termagaunts, Hormagaunts, and Genestealers. I don't know a lot about Nids so any input would be helpful.
Tyranid warriors may be a good idea. Warriors are very important because they are synapse creatures. They are also fun as they are plastic and cool models. I would steer clear of the Raveners, Gargoyles or Biovores. They are good in their way but they are both very expensive and your friend will have to fork out loads to make them into decent sized units.
You could also get him a Broodlord. It's cheap, but it's still an HQ and can be a rather important to a genestealer focused army. Another option is a zoanthrope. Both the broodlord and zoanthrope run about $20. If you're willing to spend more, a carnifex is never disappointing.
Applaud, my friend, the Comedy is finished.

Thanks for the suggestions...
You could get him a carnifex. They're amazingly useful, although they're fairly expensive.
Zoanthropes. He'll only need 3 in the end. Might as well get started now.

You can never go wrong with another Carnifex.
Many competitive lists run up to six carnifexes.
I support Leech's suggestion. It sounds like he doesn't have much synapse (only the Tyrant) so these buggers are essential. I ALWAYS field 6 of them and once I get more they'll go on the table too. I love em. They never let me down. Past that, more gaunts or a carnifex.
