Anyone know if there are any instances where an Eldar and a member of some other race intermarry? In fact, is it even possible for an Eldar and say, a human, to have a child? Also, I believe corsairs sometimes have mixed Eldar/Dark Eldar crews. Are there any Eldar-Dark Eldar crosses?
I´ve never heard of any mixing with eldar and any other race
I dont think anything like it have ever occured because eldar are a very proud race and think of humans and all other races for that matter as aliens who have no right to walk on thier former land and that those who do should be killed.
I think eldar and dark eldar dont mix very much with eachother.
Dark eldar are sadists who who kills people for joy and i think that the very thougt makes an ordinary eldar sick.
Eldar and Dark Eldar are, to my knowledge, not genetically different in any way. It's just like, say, a man from Europe meeting a woman from Africa; both human, just vastly different cultures. So I'm sure Eldar and Dark Eldar, especially those who both differ from their suggested lifestyles, could find common ground in that regard, though I highly doubt that any Eldar, Dark or Craftworld, would bring themselves so low as to mate with any other race, most especially humans.
And lets be honest, when humans meet aliens how likely do you think it is that we will be able to reproduce with them?
After some searching i found something i remembered reading a while back : Slann - Lexicanum
Specifically :It is suggested Eldar and Mankind share a common ancestor. There is little physical difference between Eldar and humans, and it is said the two races are genetically close enough that it is possible for them to interbreed.
as far as im aware the eldar only superficialy look like humans, so I doubt any viable offspring could be produced. plus both sides of this equation hate eachother.
Unlikely doesn't mean impossible and unless specifically stated that the old fluff is void it's still semi-valid... I do not have Xenology however, so feel free to refer to anything that would refute the possibility.
Both races generally hating each others is a big point tho, even if an hybrid was born odds are elements from both race would hunt it and it's procreators (or creators if it's a lab made chimera) and kill them with extreme prejudice.
I'm pretty sure the Eldars or the Adeptus Mechanicus have biotechnology that could facilitate such crazyness tho. This doesn't mean the result would be viable (aka survive birthing) or that it wouldn't be some horrible mutant and it's pretty likely it would be sterile.
As for eldars physical appearance, they look human enough that with some disguising and forgery they could probably walk straight throught an imperial guard check point without anyone bothering them about their specie.
Hahaha, of course with some of the pictures I have seen of imperial citizens I think most races could pull that off. Just throw on some crazy rebreather/gas mask hood device and your set. I would not be surprised at the least if there were more than a few Eldar and Tau spies in the Imperium. They both porbably have the technology to help mask their true identities.
Eldars would only need minimal disguising (hiding ears and eyes if eyes differ, hard to see. as well as clothes and/or "make up" to look the part of the role, you won't look much like an Hive's laborer if your face is all clean...) tho, except for pointy ears they do look quite human (tho how human can they act and how compatible the genes are is probably gonna remain a mystery, what with both races mostly hating each others it's unlikely to ever happen.
It's usually common practice to order people to take off masks when they pass check points, really.
