Just wondering if running 3 Wraithlords is viable in a mech army list. I currently run with
10 Banshees in WS
10 Scorpions in WS
10 Dire Avengers in WS
10 Dire Avengers in WS
and a farseer or two.
I currently own one Wraithlord with Wraithsword and Brightlance, and i looove the model so much i would love to buy another two. I have some sick conversions in stock for these which include one wraithlord with Wraithsword only and the other with two shooty guns which i plan on being BL and EML.
My question is: at what points limit would wraithlords no longer be considered cheese? and is running 3 wraithlords with the configs i have listed viable, with maybe a guardian squad with spiritseer running with them
itd be alot of points. Itd be scary. Never seen anyone do it.
Its more cheesy to run 3 prisms with all units in wave serpeants and falcons, so i think you should be okay. Id be curious to see how it fares in a real battle. It should ideally not too bad. Just keep moving every turn, shoot at everything in your path, and your opponent will probably realize that hes not gonna be able to take down the wrathlords and will probably shoot at the WS and troops/elites. but that wont be an easy task either. The only thing that gets me is that 3 wrathlords with heavy weapons is gonna be expensive points wise. This will limit your WS and troop/elite options. Good luck
I think you can do it at 1000 points but if you do you should feel VERY dirty. Probably worth it though for the look on your opponent's face?
3 wraithlords+1 avatar = 600-700 points. So is very doable in 1500 points range. And is really lol to see 4 monstruos creatures running around. Like a nidzilla list with serpent tanks as extra flavour
Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
Wraithlords don't mix that well with a pure mech list. Fireprisms or falcons would fit into the army easier. Now if you switch to a bit of a hybrid build using the lords and a couple of shooting units as our firebase and the serpent units as your moble element it can turn out alright.
As for the cheese question it is all realative. I have a friend that fields 2-3 lords in any game 1k or over. While it is hard to deal with them they are not cheap, and compared to things like nob bikers, lysander termie squads, fateweaver and bloodcrushers, dual lash, and landraider rushes it doesn't seem that bad.
