I have read lot of stuff about necrons and get onto one problem there are 4 known C'tan Nightbringer and deceiver are awakened but there are still Void Dragon and Outsider.... not big deal now but if you look you find that Outsider resides in Dyson Sphere and Void Dragon MAY be on mars as machine god but there is thing in Segmentum Ultima named Gates of Varl and when i looked it was related to necrons but nothing more soooo it bugs me for a while what exactly it is? i found only stuff that it may be heart of old necron imperium or something like that

I love fluff so much, and take pride in my ability to dig up even the dustyst of references.
The Gates of Varl are mentioned exactly once, as far as I can tell. And that is it. It was written back in the Second Edition of 40K, before they ever considered making a Necron army. Just because it's always handy to have loose threads that can be used later, and instill mystery in the mean time. The quiescent perils of the C'tan lay beyond the gates of Varl
Seriously, this was included just to mess with people back in 2nd, but it inspired the Necrons, unfortunately they forgot to go back and use it again, so now it's a loose end of fluff. If you want to learn more about the creation of the Necrons, dig up a copy of White Dwarf Issue 268 (May 2002), which talks all about it.
Sorry, but the official fluff has forgotten about the gates (but who knows, maybe they'll bring it back in the 5th edition Necron Codex *crosses fingers*)
