Welcome to Librarium Online!
I always win (or atleast, almost always)
I am often victorious
I would say more or less 1:1
I have a hard time winning
Why do I keep losing!
After reading a similar thread on the Tyranid forum I would like to know how often you win with your Eldar.
If I was to be brutally honest I think my ratio is about - Win 1:2 Loss. I do not believe this is all my fault of course. My opponent is almost always the same player and I would consider him to be one of the best in the area.
Still they say you learn more from losing than winning.
Also please post what you would put your victories/defeats down to.
I've only had a couple of battles so I don't know how useful this is but...
The reasons why I was victorious was usually because I got lucky and didn't loose my waveserpents in the first couple of turns. And of course that leads to the reason why I have been defeated - my waveserpents got blown up in the first couple of turns.
Sadly enough I think it just comes down to that, mind you most of my battles were at 1000 points so at that army size loosing a transport (usually closely followed by loosing what is in the transport) is quite costly.
2nd reason for defeats - that stupid exorcist tank!
Army: W/L/D -- Eldar 6/2/2; Orks 1/3/0; BA 1/1/0
The Tale of Two Gamers
I've been playing for a long time. When 5th edition first came out, i did alot of loosing.
Once I started playing Mech Eldar though....Ive only lost 2 games, and it was very close. A matter of an inch away from an objective when the game ended after turn 5..*shakes angry Fist*. And another time when my objective got contested at turn 5 and the game ended. *shakes angry fist again!!!*
The trick is....camp home objective. place others in open for no cover. and contest their objective from turn 5+. The best way to do this is to lock them in assault. And them make sure to blast all those who dare take the open field objectives. Also the opponenet usually will go after open objectives with only a portion of his force. While mine moves as and fights as 1. Like a unstoppable steamroller.
I currently have 9-10 wins and 2 losses ( described above). Unfortunetly I do not have enough points to do a 'ard boyz. And my local store doesnt do much for tournaments...but I am going to attempt to see if I am good or just better than my local group. Have fun
*edit* I forgot to mention, most people dont realize how important it is to having more than 2 troop choices. Most only take 2, 1 on home objective and leaving only 1 for getting another. Take out that lone 1 unit. and he has a max of 1 objective for the whole game. Which is immobile and camping on his home objective. Take out the troops and its over.

Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
My record is pretty close to niraco's except double the numbers.
Well, you can see my rate right in my signature... As you see I don't have much games, only started to play 40k.
Eldar: W: 3, L: 3, D: 0
I win a lot with my Witch Hunters because I know the army inside out, and I know how to use my acts of faith very effectively. In fact I might go as far as to say the faith acts are a little over-powered.
As far as Eldar goes I haven't actually started playing with them yet (I almost have 500pts painted), but I'm expecting our first few games to be interesting as my friend has also started a new army (IG) and we're "escalating" together. Fortunately I'm having a lot of time to do my painting, because like an absolute prize idiot he chose to make a Death Corps of Krieg army, which means he's paying out a stupid amount of money and growing his army very slowly.

in my opinion, eldar are alot about who your fighting, for example when im playen my eldar by far my toughest oponents are necrons and god forsaken bloody stupid mindless annoying crazy useless yelling screaming whining good for nothing swarming orks... ive played 2 matches against orks with my eldar and it wasnt even close. maybe this is just because im not very good with eldar yet or because eldar are just an advesery for the eldar?
My Tomb Kings Project
I have fought orks on numerous occasions and I have to say that they are not too bad for me. Granted my friend is not that skillful.
Biggest problem I have with Orks is Nobz with a doc. 5+ inv with a 4+ feel no pain and 2 wounds each, stick em on a bike and its troublesome.
Eldar: Hakan-eth Craftworld - Lead by Head Farseer Jaraith 2500pts
Tau: Yihe'ya Sept - Lead by Shas'O Yihe'a Montro Myen Kauyon 1500pts
You can build lists that win more often then not if you field a mech/reserve force. I play Iyanden though so my win/loss ratio is not exceptional ( a little over 50% mainly due to experience or opponent's ineptitude ). The fact is that certain lists are very tough for me. Nob Bikers, Battlewagon spam, Land Raider spam and well desiigned Deamon lists are built to punish me. Nidzilla/genestealer lists are difficult too. Now the majotity of my gaming group have been through the tournament circuit ( I rarely attend these days ) and they bring lists that they are tweaking for top tier competition. Iyanden is not an army that fares well at the highest levels.
I'm not accusing anyone of BSing on the forums but I find it amusing that every forum has players that only win games. I wonder who loses? If Nids, Gaurd, SM and Orks are always winning then who are you guys playing? I'm aware a seer council list recently performed well. In fact I think they were very lucky at that partiucular tournament as Seer councils are not great against LR spam and Nob bikers in general. I rely on Fire Dragons and Wraithlords to take out those lists and my Iyanden do not always field the FDs as I like as many WG in my list as possible so I use WG in a Serpent instead. Admittedly my list is not optimized for the highest levels of competition.
So I guess I would vote 1:1 and having a lot of fun.
