How do TigerSharks work? Are they worth it in an 1850 army?
From what I understand, in 4th edition, a highly mobile army will have a certain advantage.... So, im thinking a drone carrier might be cool, but have no idea on the rules for Tigersharks.

The rules for the Tau tiger shark can be found (correct me if I'm wrong) in the book Imperial Armour Update, which is out of print. They are also found in Imperial Armour Update 2004. I myself have not used it, but I plan on getting update 2004, and if the units look good, two barracudas and a tiger shark to support my fire warriors. Wow, there goes all my money for awhile. I dont think they would be worth it in a 1850pt game, its a large aircraft, it will be very pricey. A barracuda might even be too expensive in that size game. I'd reserve the air support for the big games.

The problem with tau fighters is their guns, they get an Ion-cannon, wich in my opinion is too weak. I rather had a railgun (with or without submunition) on it.
Fighters are great to hunt basilisks and other artillery pieces, and an Ion-cannon is just not good enough to take those out.
If I'm not mistaken the TigerShark is a warengine and of such you are only allowed to field them at more than 2000pts games and you require your opponents permission to use such weapons
he is right you may only have it in a game of more than 2000pts.
i have worked my self up to a state of extreame poverty!!!!!

You may field them in a squadron of 1-3 vehicles which will count as a single detachment
Yup and they cost like 300pts for one. They have a couple structure points on them. Now the Barracudas are 200 pts to field one and it takes one heavy choice. They are cool but worth it unless in bigger games. They can be very fragile with only and armour of 10 all around. BUt with an ion cannon, twin linked missile pod, and two burst cannons they can lay down some heavy troop killing fire.

don't forget that because the are flyers the rules for shooting at them are different than shooting normal tanks,
most weapons don't even have the range to hit it, only a few shot will actually hit the plane and they are only glancing
the only real threat are Flak weapons
I only have one question whats A Tigershark. Is it a Tau Tank?
