Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was looking through the CA 2003 and saw the Kroot Mercenary army list and thought they might have potential.
I think the fluff is interesting and the models are definately cool. The "Signature Evolutionary Adaptations" would seem to geve the the extra edge that they need to make a pretty good hoard army.
Have any of you Tau players ever played one of these army?
Except Tau players can't use them. Well.... Hmmm. I wonder if a Farsight player could use them, since they can't use the normal Kroot, and the normal Tau can't use the Kroot Mercenaries.

Right, Tau players cant use them and I dont know about the Farsight enclave-thats what I play- It is an intresting thought though isnt it?
I have also started building a Kroot Merc force.
Commander Farsight is an outcast, and the kroot "To collect as wide a range of characteristics as possible, they secretely dispatch entire armies of mercenaries to fight alongside other races in order to expose themselves to creatures and environments not found in Tau space." They then return to their homeworld of Pech.
It does say that Tau are not allowed to ally with them, so I reckon its up to each individual club or group to discuss this and make their own decision.
"Every day above ground is a good day"
"Sometimes I feel like the winner in the Aztec Lucky Virgin contest"
Actually it is in the FAQ that Farsight can not use Kroot Mercenaries.
Also, I field a 1000 point Kroot Mercenary Force. Tough to play with, but interesting.
