So I just want to check with you guys on the rules regarding planetstrike and Assault move.
With planetstrike every infantry can deepstrike, and those who previously could gain the bonus of an assault in the turn they arrive. This makes me question whether or not Tau suits are able to move in the turn they arrive. I believe it is stated in the descriptions of the suits that they are not able to jump in the turn they arrive so my question is, do they gain their movement now?
I think you can look at it one of two ways. Infantry that could not deepstrike that now can follow the normal deepstrike rules and so are unable to assault on their arrival. XV suits are able to deepstrike previously so they gain their assault bonus, as this means they are permitted to move in their assault phase under planetstrike rules you can further agree that moving in the turn they arrive is also permitted (since they are allowed to move anyway to assault)
On the the other hand it does state in the codex that the XV suits are not able to jump on the turn of their arrival.
Would we bring this down to whatever the players agree with? dice roll? or has anyone got anything to add to make my post redundant
Eldar: Hakan-eth Craftworld - Lead by Head Farseer Jaraith 2500pts
Tau: Yihe'ya Sept - Lead by Shas'O Yihe'a Montro Myen Kauyon 1500pts
if you play planet strike then yeah i would. It goes with the rules so none of your opponents should disagree, besides that dreaded termie assault unit can now assault on the turn they arrive so why not.
