Welcome to Librarium Online!
I usually just read rather then posting myself, but I didn't see a topic for this and was curious. How was your Ard Boyz. Not sure if we are allowed to describe specifics but here is mine. Not so much a battle report but rather a summary and my thoughts.
Round 1 versus pure Grey Knights. Major victory for me though his land raider crusader lived much longer then it should have and killed much more then it should have.
Round 2 versus Eldar. The silly kill point rules had me at 33. I lost by putting my stuff on the table. I had to table to win. But my hopes were dashed when I finally got his max seer council squad to just his autarch and farseer on bike and cried as they walked through half my army. Nothing would touch them. The rest of his army was worked but regardless, massacred result for me.
Round 3 versus Sisters of Battle. Not the usual mech, but a mix of foot slogging and rhinos. There was even repentia. Unfortunately the player did his moves so slowly we had to call it at the end of the fifth turn. He had 7 models on the board but because one was a single battle sister on an objective, minor win for me.
The last game didn't really matter since I was already out of the running. My stores winners were a Vulcan space marine list at number 1 and a demon list at number 2. Overall I think DE can still work decently compared to other races, though I am jealous of the super cheese units sometimes. That eldar player made every fortune save after turn 2. Can't say I was happy about losing but I wasn't that upset by it either. It was fun and I did better then last year, so next year maybe hah. I still don't like kill points though.
I'd like to hear how some of the other DE players did.
That Witchhunter player would have pissed me off if he took that long.
Ard Boyz was just terrible for me this year
A brief run down of my army list... Vect, Punisher Dracon with incubi, 3 wyches on raiders, 4 warrior squads with DLs/Blasters/agoniser, 2 3 dissie ravagers and a talos, 1 5 man reaver jetbike squad with blasters
Round 1 - Vs. Blood Angels. I made Dante and a bunch of assault marines run off the board. I had 4 warrior squads, 2 wych squads, 2 ravagers, vect, all my raiders, my dracon and incubi left still ( All I lost was a talos and 1 wych squad ). He had 1 full tac squad 1 half tac squad left. Unfortunately the bloodlust took me over, I was trying to table and not looking at time, he had 1 more objective than me after 4 turns and won because i wasnt paying attention to time. Minor loss to me although I got 3 out of 4 of the bonus points, haha.
Round 2 - Vs. Tau. With the night fighting and deployment rules he just lined up along the back board edge and shot down every one of my vehicles that got close to him. Somehow my archon survived and proceeded to kill about 50 kroot and a crap load of fire warrirors, but his early salvos slowed me down too much and I was easy pickings. It did not help did I did not roll above a 2 trying to penetrate his armor. I think he got 33 kill points and I got 19.
Round 3 - Vs. Tau again. A little better deployment for me and bad shooting by his rail guns let me close range with most of his units. My ravagers annihilated his scoring units and in return were destroyed by rail guns, but my sole surviving scoring unit reached an objective and won me a minor victory.
Horde o' Orks won first and Nob Bikers/Ultramarines tied for 2nd at our store. I should have done better quite frankily... paying attention I could have massacred my opponent in round 1, and then would not have been stuck fighting a line of rail gun death in round 2.
Whatever, I was the only eldar/dark eldar player present and I had fun.
