what are the best combos against opponents in general i can only think of
I wanted to seperate units of 3 Crisis Battlesuits to take out infantry and tanks thx and i am requesting others for these 2 categories
For instance I use a Torch unit with Missile pods (twin linked Flamers and MP's) and I find it very effective against both infantry and light armour. A twin linked flamer unit will kill as many MEQ's as a Fire-knife squad but you need to be close to use it. Hence this is where the experience comes in, I always make sure the Torch unit is going to hurt whatever target it hits and if needs be support it with another unit.
I take the torch squad purely because it is good against all infantry units and for its ability to ignore cover saves. Adding the MP's gives the unit added anti armour punch and ranged firepower if not in range to use the flamers.
As for pure anti tank then nothing beats the Deathrain TA. A unit of these will hurt most transport vehicles. To be honest railguns are the way to go for tough (AV13/AV14 vehicles) so you should make sure you have minimum 2 (and pref 3 or 4) railguns in your list unless you are confident with XV8 Helios suits (not many are).
I personally go for a Deathrian unit, Helios Shas'El, FK Shas'El, Torch squad with those MP's, Hammerheads (2) and a Skyray (handy for ML's and Seekers).
If I were you I would go for a three man Deathrain unit with TA'a and possibly a target locked team leader for the anti armour and either a torch squad (if you feel confident enough to use it but give it MP's) or a generic Fireknife squad. However I find FK squads an exercise in compromise and simply not that good at anti infantry.
To be quite honest it all depends on what is in the rest of your list as well. Do you have ML support? (vital for Fireknife squads). Do you have other anti infantry? (FW squads, Kroot, HH's or Stealth's) What are your heavy choices?
Let us know the makeup of the list you intend to field and we can be more targeted with our advice.
We ask this to everyone who asks this question:
-How do YOU play?
-What do YOU play against?
I come from a shop with no ork players, the only nid player uses 6 dakka fexes, and the only 3 guard players (me being one of them) use an ordnance (NOT ORDEERANANCE) based army.
For this reason i don't like flamers or burst cannons. I am in favor of the Helios pattern which is the PR/FB combo cause my army is built to withstand mass firepower but not heavier stuff like tanks, MCs, termies, which 80% of all the models used in my local store happen to be, cause the weapons are so powerful they can lay waste to SCs in a turn, and keep the troops from advancing.
In larger games i use Farsight w/ 7 bodyguard, all w/ twinned flamers and Target locks.
(space marines in this example)
I focus farsight on a marines squad, then TL my flamers in to a unit of termies, done right i can get 5 hits w/ each flamer =35hits
wounding on 4s =17.5 =17
w/ rerolls = an extra 9
total is 26 saves
2+ = 1/6 die = 4.3 dead.
Then farsight on the marines, then a charge to finish any squad off.
Edit: the ordeeranance thing is because of the amout of people ive met who tell me that is how you say it. Mainly the amount of GW staff who tell me that is how you say it.

sorry for not mentioning my army, basically everyone has SM and orks and chaos.
Due to the fact that im a noob im only strong enough to feild a 1000pt army i wont go into the list but i will tell u the build of the army.
2 firewarrior teams
and occasionally pathfinder with devilfish shifting points
So this is my army and am wonderin the best weapons to put on my crisis i will definatley have enough points so plz mention the best possible ways from ur personal experience. thx
I prefer Fusion Blaster + Plasma rifle. You have to very good with your ranges, playing with 12" is tough, but it works quite well.
And then I want some Missile pods sitting in the back.
The fireknife build is the most flexible and versatile. It is very good at killing infantry, and it is very good at busting light armour. You do pay something of a points premium for this flexibility, but if you're only fielding a single unit of Crisis suits in your army, I honestly think Fireknife is the way to go. It's the best all-rounder, generalist build, and will serve you well no matter what opponent you face.
If you intend to field more Crisis suits than a single unit, then I think it might be worthwhile to consider diversification. My 2nd favorite build is the "cheap deathrain torch": TL missile pods and flamers. More reliable at popping armour than a fireknife and still capable of hurting many infantry units, but at a bargain basement price. I don't believe its wise for Tau units not Kroot to go looking for close engagements with enemies, so the flamers are more of a cheap 3rd hardpoint/failsafe choice than a true offensive choice. But there are situations where the flamers have really saved my bacon or proven invaluable. Frying light infantry is always a pleasure, and using this unit to roast the exposed infantry after initially popping their transport (perhaps with those fireknives ) is also quite fun. Three flamers is nothing to sneeze at, even if you're Space Marines.
Beyond these two builds, I haven't really found anything that suits my fancy on Elite Crisis units. There are many other suitable combos on Shas'els, of course.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

I use the fireknife combo often enough, but generally dislike it because it is ineffiecient. It does work if you only have one squad of Crisis suits, but generally I would prefer to match ranges. Usually my HQ sqaud gets the plasma and fusion, some lowbies get the missiles.
My fav combination is the flamer / pulse carbine - it is teh UBER. Your enemies will run away and cry.
Or, y'know, what everyone else said. It depends on many things that only you know, but the two combinations (fireknife and helios) you mentioned plus twin-linked missile pods are always a good bet.
