Has anyone tried using two kommandos units with burnas and nob in smaller games (like 1500 or so)? Is it any useful or is a total disaster?

ok i haven't used 2 kommando units as of yet but really your elite choices are being wasted by spending them on kommandos, they are just not that great compared to the other elite choices. I can really recommend chucking burnas ina BW and hiding Loota's in buildings and terrain. Nobz are excellent but obviously need some protection (like warbosses) as they attract alot of fire. Anyhows don't take kommados UNLESS the whole battle is on difficult terrain.
Comparing to normal boys they are a little bit more expensive, but they start under cover, closer and after deployment. Or outflanking, depending of what I see fit in that moment. Maybe they can be deployed at one "empty" flank while my trukkz speed up the other and shoota boyz advance to hold the center and/or charge later

I only use one unit of kommandos, mostly because the other elite slots are used up by lootas. Kommandos work very well in horde/footslogging lists, especially if they have 9-13 kommandos w/2 burnas, and Snikkrot. However, lootas are more important, and I like using 2 units of 9 in footslogging lists.
Instead of 2 units of kommandos, I usually use 1 unit of kommandos and 1 unit of deffkoptas instead.

Never take Kommandos without Snikrot so there's no real point in taking just 2. As an Eldar player I've had a lot of problem with his ambush rule but have always been able to deal with Kommando units of any size without any problems if Snikrot's not around.

If you were to use 2 squads of kommandos I wouldn't bother with Snikrot in either of them. Save some points and get a power klaw out of it. His strike anywhere ability is basically offset by the fact that you've got 2 squads each with a 67% chance of coming in the side you want. This assumes you are outflanking with them. 10 guys separated from the horde should never really be infiltrated.
...Although, there is something to be said about 45 infiltrating kommandos...not sure how well it'd do but it could make your opponent sweat a bit. Figure 3 squads of kommandos, 2 squads of 20 stormboyz going full speed 1st turn and you have a lot of units awfully close to the enemy right off the bat.
I always take Snikrot because I'd hate to have a expensive (Around 200) point squad end up on the other side of the field and turn into regular boys. Also there is something about a squad of orks that can infiltrate almost anywhere anytime. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah I play Nurgle?
Kommandos with snikrot are the only way I have ever been recommended to use them. I've known ork players who swear by him. I haven't tried them yet but they sound really fun.
