The Use of Shadow in the Warp

I usually put Warp Field on my Flyrant but lately I have been annoyed by the psychic powers of the Farseers. Add to the fact that IG now have access to some good psykers and that I fear the day I will face a CSM army with double lash princes and that 10pts invested in Shadow in the Warp seems like a bargain!

I also have calculated the probabilities of successful psychic test (perils of the warp) with and without Shadow in the Warp. Although unimpressive considering most of the psykers have a LD10, it is still quite good for 10 pts.

Does anyone actually uses the Shadow in the Warp psychic power?

In one game I stopped an IG psyker from casting that Lightning Arc thing. That power is like a psychic machine gun. I only blocked it once but my reasoning is that a 10 point power probably saved at least 40-50 points of stuff from dying so yeah... its worth it.

Getting lashed or doomed, all of that stuff is really bad for us so 10 points can potentially save lots of bugs.

The shadow of the warp has to be used with psychic scream to reduce the LD of the opponent psykers for better results. So 1 hive tyrant with shadow of the warp, 1 hive tyrant with psychic scream and 3 zoans with psychic scream can give a -4 LD to your opponent, the worst part is that you have to stay at 45cm of the opponents psyker with the psychic scream units. This is just a psychic scream list, then you can go for nidzilla (7 monstruous creatures in 1500+ battles), go for swarm or whatever, but having all this the best for us is going for a pinning army (lots of deathspitters and barbed stranglers) to see how the opponent loses all his LD throws.

Haven't tried the whole psychic choir thing yet but I plan to. It looks nasty indeed.

Awesome power. but depends on who you are using against.

I play Tau and Eldar a lot and the eldar players love the runes of witnessing.

Still with Psychic scream it does super rock but I still use 3 zoans and 2 tyrants all with psychic scream and stranglers on everything. That extra negative ld point works better than planning against psykers imho.

speaking of pyschic powers this is probably a real nooby question but if you wanna take a pyschic choir army can you take 3 zoanthropes and give each pyschic scream but then different pyschic powers to fill the 3rd slot? like have 3 with pyschic scream, 2 of which have warp blast and the third has synapse?
Sir we have a lock on the Hive tyrant.
NO! SHOOT THAT SPORE MINE! OH GOD, ITS GOING BACKWARDS!
