Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have been playing tyranids for a while and still haven't figured out the red terror, old one eye, or death leaper. Are these special models with special rules, in which case where do I find the rules? Also are they in games workshop stores because I have never seen them?
Red Terror and Old One Eye were 'special' characters in the last ed of the Nid Codex. They were 'special' in that they could had rules like special characters but could be taken in any sized army, basically like the current rules for marine special characters.
Old One Eye was carnifex character while the Red Terror was an uber Ravenor character. Both had models but have been dis-continued. Have a look on the GW website in the classics range, they should be there.
Deathleaper was brought out for Cities of Death and I think was a special charcter but not too sure. He was a varient on the Lictor and had a pretty funky model. This should be available on the GW site still, not sure which section tho
You can find all three of them here.Games Workshop
I don't know where the rules are for them. They used to be on the GW site but they 'improved' it and removed the rules.
As explained, Old One Eye was a Godfex with Regeneration. You can make your own old One Eye with the 4th edition Tyranid Codex and their customizable Carnifexes.
The Red Terror was an incredibly great ruleset that allowed you to put a MC into a Fast Attack slot.
The Death Leaper was part of the Medusa V campaign back in 2007 or so. It is still a nice model.
Tyranids don't use special characters, but the justification for the existence of the Death Leaper as a special character made things interesting. The fluff stated that the Death Leaper was a new variant of the Lictor that made it even better and scarier. If the Leaper had survived the battle and assimilated back with the hive, the Tyranids' Lictors and stealth capabilities would have been "unstoppable".
Interestingly enough, Death Leaper was origionally introduced as part of a Canadian only campagn back in 3rd. He had one less wound than a normal lictor, but one more attack and some funky set up rule. There was also an ultramarine character with a super auspex who's goal was to hunt the Death Leaper.
I have to disagree about the Red Terror having a good ruleset. As nice as it was, the whole I3 thing kinda made it really bad. One wound from a dread or a demo cannon and it was dead, and it attacked after most of the common d00ds out there (MEQ, kroot, nearly all nids, etc). Its the same reason Furies are bad in a chaos daemons army. The low initiative kills them due to the enemy being able to kill them before they can attack.

If I recall correctly, The Red Terror was a deep-striking MC for about 100 points. It acted like a Ravener otherwise. The amusing gimmick was that if it hit enough times in close combat, it could "Swallow" a model in base contact with it. The swallowed model was destroyed completely; you didn't have to roll to wound either and this ignored all saves.
Otherwise, its stats were barely higher than that of a standard Ravener.
It wasn't the greatest of stats, but the gimmick and the ability to field ninth (deep striking) MC was fun.
