What are some of your best or worst tyranid battles/moments?
One of the best is actually a game I saw between my brother against his friend. He was playing space wolves vs nids in a 1500pt game. The nid army was tyrant, 2 carnifexes, and 40+ upgraded genestealers. By turn 2, the space wolves shot down almost all the genestealers with just rapid fire and assault cannons. All looked lost as his space wolf army was almost fully intact still. Then the dakka flyrant proceeded to wipe out almost the entire space wolf army by itself. It must have killed almost 900pts of space wolves to force the tie at the end.
One of the worst moments came in a game I played, ironically, with space wolves as well. I had 2 cc-godfexes w/T7, 5W & 2+. Each over 200pts and each taken down by a bolt pistol shot in the end. Yes, he rolled 6's to wound both times and I, down to 1 wound each, rolled 1's for the armor saves both times.
I will forever be haunted by Old One Eye's glorious roll of a 6 for his attacks, only to then roll 6 1s and a 2 to hit. Several years on, and I still cannot live this down.
I havent had any real great moments, there have been some cinematic ones but nothing too outstanding.
If Google were a woman...I would so marry her.
Worst game: Getting wiped out in 4th by a GK army and the only unit I killed were 5 stormtroopers (though admittedly I had a complete crap list and he was playing what was at the time one of the more competitve lists for DH). Another that ranks up there was charging a unit of 5 stealers with EC with my unit of 8 stealers with feeder tendrils. My stealers got less half hits even with the re-rolls and they lost combat by 1 as the 5 stealers managed 3 rends and 2 additional wounds (one failed save). My stealers got not rends and my opponent only failed 3 saves. Next turn they got charged by around 20 guants and killed 4 as my opponent rolled 3 of his 7 6+ saves (and once again, no rends).
As for the best... Lately I've been tabling my opponents, generally by turn 4. Of course I'm not facing any hard enemies or armies, but I'm not exactly using a zilla army either (I've only played with more than 4 MCs once, and that game I had 3 200pt CCfexes, a CC flyrant, and a dakkarant, though it was against the nid player above and despite my bad rolling his list was bad enough that when my luck became decent on turn 2 (I killed his 200+pt VC+Scy-tal tyrant after it charged one of my CC fexes and I took no wounds from it, though that was really my only bit of luck for the first two turns) all of his models except for 2 zoans were dead by turn 4 when my 2nd unit of stealers decided to show up).
If you want rather epic feeling moments, then I'd have to say its was pretty sweet when my scything flyrant charged one side of a 10 man termy unit+Typhus and a unit of FT stealers charged the other side (so no re-rolls for my tyrant) and my tyrant killed Typhus, my stealers killed a couple more terminators, and they lost combat and I ran them down. The unit had a couple of LCs and a couple of PFs, so that was probably around 700pts right there in a 1750pt game, killed by a 200pt flyrant and 160pts of stealers. 2 stealers managed to survive his shooting next turn and charged his sorceror (1 wound left) and a plague marine and killed them.
