So I am almost done painting my aspect warriors (went with their standard aspect color schemes with minor variations) and the time has come to start painting wave serpents/prisms. I was originally going to go with Biel-Tan color scheme, because I like the fluff and fits with the theme of my army, but I'm kinda turned off by the Biel-Tan rune. It makes me feel like I'm fielding an army of care bears with the heart on there. So my questions to the LO eldar community are: 1. What craftworld "theme" do you guys usually field, and 2. Besides Biel-Tan, what craftworld would fit an aspect warrior/grav tank heavy force?
Thanks in advance!
I roll with my own. It's a maiden world founded by people who dissented from the Lugganth craft world. It's called the Luggandar.
A craftworld that uses a lot of aspects, but isn't biel-tan...hm if you end up going really mechy you could go saim-hain, but i think that you might be better served by going for one of the "other craftworlds" like the Il-Kaithe, a similar paint scheme and not really enough information on them for contr-indicate the use of aspects. The Altansar or Iybrasesil would also suite your needs, albeit a different color scheme.
There is a list of GW-made color schemes here:
Some of these are craftworlds that have little more than their name mentioned in the fluff. You could easily fluff them however needed, especially an Aspect Warrior army.
Personally, I use a lighter form of the Zahr-Tann scheme with white runes all over the armor.
I chose Altansar! LOVE their fluff, and I can make the case from them being heavy bsaed upon thousands of years fighting back Chaos.
You may even want some variants of those present...
...Tzeenchian Ulthwe Renegades being my part, for example.
I use Yme-Loc and my Craft world. They are very Heavy on Tanks due to their extensive engineering and artistic skills. The Aspect warriors are not mentioned in the fluff on how many they use but the tanks are. Their colors are orange and grey. Look in the Codex for more inforation (A picture of a Guardian).
Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.
Thanks to all for the suggestions. Rep all around. After reading the little bit of fluff I found on Iybraesil I'm thinking of rolling with that. Banshees are my fave so they fit with the whole matriarchal society/daughters of Morag Hai thing. Now, I just have to figure out a way to make/convert female farseer models...
