    Flying hive tyrants!

Hello all, after about 7 or so months of waiting, GW finally got my wings at their store XD
So i was going to magnetize them, and was wondering, what drill bit should i use? i have the GW store bought one, and i think that it is to small for the size of magnets i am going to be using. The size of them are about half a pinkey nail or at least 1/4

Any idea what i should use?

Congrats. Well my tyrant is magnetized but the wings are not. I used the Balrog wings and could not get enough pull with the magnets to hold the wings on while playing. I drilled a hole between the two arm sockets on the carapace. The wings stay in while playing on the board but slide out to fit into the case.

I'd recommend a nice strong brass or aluminum rod to pin the wings with. They are too heavy and off balanced for the magnets to hold.

ah, but you see, these magnets are like, super strong, its reealy hard to get them to seperate, and you can have one in your palm, and put another one opposite side of your hand, and the force will hold them there.
I myself have got the Highelf dragon wings =D

Well, I managed to use magnets on mine, but I did not use any drilling. If you have rare earth magnets, and you can do it right, you won't need to drill.
Applaud, my friend, the Comedy is finished.

    Can't wait to see it!

I have the forgeworld winged hive tyrant. To make it's wings magnetized I used 4mm( think) rare earths that I dug into the HT. These would not hold. So I added 2 pins around each magnet, one below and one to the fore of the wing. These stop the wing ffrom falling directly down while the magnet stops the wing from pulling the pins out wiht its weight.

Those should easily hold plastic wings, but like everyone said I'd pin at least once just to be sure.

okay, so let me just make sure i have this... I need to magnitize it, and pin it.... Errr pinning is like, paper clip, drillhole, and poke it in? only glue it to one part *wing?* and just insert it during play?

how would i go about getting that magnet in then =P
